Saints Could Move Reggie Bush
Now that the 2009-10 season is in the books, it’s time to start thinking about the 2010-2011 season. One big question that must be asked is if Reggie Bush will be back with the Saints considering he is expected to earn $8 million next season. Bush only had five rushes for 25 yards, four catches for 38 yards, and one punt return for four yards on Super Bowl Sunday. He did have a big game against the Arizona Cardinals in the Divisional round and scored a touchdown against the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game. Bush is a game-breaker, but his health has been an issue, and he hasn’t proven that he can be an every down back. With this in mind, the Saints could ask Bush to restructure...
Saints’ Drew Brees Wins Super Bowl MVP Award
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees can now be mentioned, without a doubt, in the same sentence as the other elite quarterbacks in the game after leading the Saints to a 31-17 Super Bowl 44 win and taking home MVP honors. Brees finished the game with a record-tying 32 completions out of 39 attempts for 288 yards and two touchdowns. He was something to marvel at in the four quarter when he strung together 10 straight completions to help the Saints score the go-ahead touchdown. What makes it even sweeter is that Brees captured Super Bowl glory by outdueling Peyton Manning, who is already considered to be the best QB ever by some analysts. Manning already has four NFL MVP awards and a Super...
Super Bowl 44 is most Watched TV Show Ever
Yahoo! Sports reports that Super Bowk 44 between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts was the most watched U.S. TV show ever if early Nielsen ratings hold up. An estimated 106.5 million people tuned in for Sunday’s Super Bowl, which breaks the previous record of 105.97 million viewers who tuned in for the 1983 finale of the hit TV show “M-A-S-H” if the estimate holds up. Story lines such as the Saints trying to win the game for their broken city in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Peyton Manning going for his second Super Bowl ring against the team his father (Archie Manning) played for helped post record ratings. As far as Super Bowls go, this one easily...
Super Bowl 44 Recap
Super Bowl 44 is in the books with the New Orleans Saints coming out on top 31-17 over the Indianapolis Colts. It was a great day for Super Bowl betting as Jimmy Boyd’s Super Bowl picks both cashed on the Saints +6 and the Saints/Colts Under 57. Here’s a little recap of last night’s game. 1st quarter: The Colts struck first with a 38-yard Matt Stover field goal to go up 3-0. Then, they struck again with Peyton Manning connecting with Pierre Garcon for a 19-yard touchdown pass to go up 10-0. 2nd quarter: The second quarter belonged to the Saints, but Indy still came out looking pretty good because it was able to hold New Orleans two a pair of field goals. Garrett Hartley...
College Basketball Power Rankings: Kansas Keeps Top Spot
1. Kansas Jayhawks (22-1) – The Jayhawks are the No. 1 team in the country in every poll behind a perfect 8-0 start in Big 12 play, but they’ll have to take care of business against Texas in Austin tonight to stay No. 1. NCAA basketball odds makers have listed Kansas as a 2-point favorite with the total set at 153 tonight against Texas. 2. Syracuse Orange (23-1) – With Villanova’s loss to Georgetown, the Orange now clearly appear to be the team to beat in the Big East. Syracuse easily handled both Providence and Cincinnati this past week. It has UConn up next. 3. Kentucky Wildcats (22-1) – Since losing to South Carolina, the Wildcats have won three in a row by...
NBA Power Rankings: Cleveland Rocks
1. Cleveland Cavaliers (41-11) – The Cavs are clearly the best team in the NBA right now, and they are currently riding an 11-game winning streak. On a personal level, I would love to see LeBron James get his first NBA title this season and for Shaq to pick up another ring as well. 2. Los Angeles Lakers (39-13) – Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum are both banged up. In fact, both may not play tonight against the Spurs. But the Lakers are still the second best team in the league right now, having won 10 of their last 14 games. With Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, and Pau Gasol healthy, L.A. still boasts plenty of star power. NBA odds makers have listed the Lakers as a 3.5-point favorite against...

Super Bowl 44 MVP Odds: Reggie Wayne
With the Super Bowl now just a day away, it’s time to start narrowing down which player you like to win the Super Bowl 44 MVP award. The quarterback position has brought home more Super Bowl MVP awards than any other position so if you want to bet Peyton Manning or Drew Brees to win the award, you’re not going to get much value. In fact, Manning is currently listed at 10 to 17 odds to win MVP honors. If you’re looking for a little more value, you might want to go a different route. We have seen a recent boom in wide receivers taking home the Super Bowl MVP trophy. In fact, a wide receiver has won the award three of the last six years, including last season when Santonio...
