For Thursday night you are going to want to be on board for our Auburn South Carolina predictions if you want to break the bank. Jimmy feels really strongly about this game and he is going to capitalize once again on national television for his clients by beating the college football odds. If you want to keep winning then sign up for his NCAA football picks package to take you through the weekend.

Last season, Auburn took it to the Gamecocks to the tune of 48-7. This season, South Carolina will be looking to get revenge on its home turf. Columbia, South Carolina is unfamiliar territory for the Auburn Tigers as they haven’t played a game there since 1997. Expect the Gamecocks to air it out in this one. Coach Steve Spurrier gave quarterback Syvelle Newton a warm up last for this week’s game and it resulted in him tying a school record with five touchdown passes. We know coach Spurrier isn’t afraid to open up his offense, and after last week’s offensive struggles, coach Tommy Tuberville has said that he’s going to open things up a little bit as well. This will mean that the Tigers will be playing a way that they aren’t accustomed to playing, which could result in several turnovers.

One thing Auburn will be able to count on is a solid defensive effort. The defense’s talents were best showcased this season in week three in the Tigers 7-3 victory over number six ranked LSU. Auburn will be tested on every single play this week as coach Spurrier has an athlete under center in Newton who has played three offensive positions. Newton isn’t known for his passing ability, but last week’s record performance has got Auburn’s attention.

We know we aren’t going to see a 48-7 rout like we did a season ago, but we do know that the Tigers have gotten the better of South Carolina in this series with a 5-1-1 record against the Gamecocks. Tuberville has spoken of opening things up a little bit, but for the most part expect a large dose of handoffs, especially if any trick plays or down the field chances results in a turnover. The Gamecocks are going to have to stop the run to have a chance in this one. That much is obvious. The fact that tailback Kenny Irons is banged up should weigh in South Carolina’s favor, but the Gamecocks just aren’t big and physical enough up front to shut down the run completely.

South Carolina must stop the run and Auburn must be ready every play on defense as Spurrier often looks to strike quick with down-the-field plays. Home field will be nice this time around for the Gamecocks but will it be enough to give them a chance to win this football game? One more thing we must consider is that when you have a number two ranking, you also have a big target on your back and Steve Spurrier has coached in plenty of big games.

Before you lay down on Thursday night’s SEC matchup, make sure you see who I’m loading up on as this is my SEC Game of the Month. I have done my homework and I know which team will be ready to play in this one. Will Auburn respond after a dull performance last week or will South Carolina be looking for payback after last year’s debacle? Jimmy Boyd has Thursday night’s matchup in the bag and will help you profit with your football betting on the game.
