2006 Heisman Candidates

Stay up to date with our 2007 Heisman Candidates article

With the season fast approaching here is our list of 2006 Heisman candidates.  There are a lot of big names from talented schools who will have a chance to carry home the hardwood in December, with three names really sticking out.  Brady Quinn of Notre Dame is the odds on favorite and most pundits beleive that if he just repeats his figures from a year ago he'll claim the top individual honor in college football.  The second best choice seems to be Adrian Peterson, who will be propelled further up the Heisman watch list if the Sooners perform well without Rhett Bomar.  Troy Smith of the Ohio State Buckeyes is being highly touted this season, but he may run into troubles with the splitting of votes with teammate Ted Ginn.  The dark horses in this campaign seem to be the talented duo from Louisville in running back Michael Bush and quarterback Brian Brohm.  These two should be contenders as long as the Cardinals do not slip up against a team they should beat.
