2006 Oklahoma State Cowboys FootballNow take a look at our 2008 Oklahoma State Football Predictions! With a grueling schedule in Big 12 play, you can expect the 2006 Oklahoma State Cowboys football team to be at home for the Bowl season. The team has a lot of youth on offense, but the good news is that a lot of them got significant playing time last season. On defense there are only going to be three starters who also started last year, which isn't good when both units finished in the 90s last season among teams in the nation.
Bobby Reid was a high profile recruit coming out of high school, and he is going to have to show why this year. He struggled at times last year and appeared to have lost his confidence when the Cowboys went on their 1-7 slide to end the year. At least this year he'll have some more help to take some of the pressure off as Mike Hamilton and Dantrell Savage are both capable running backs with a blend of speed and power. The receivers should be better this year with Adrarius Bowman coming over from North Carolina to join the very talented D'Juan Woods. The defensive line has four players with starting experience and they offer a solid blend of speed and power that should help the pass rush and the run defense. After you get past the line, there isn't a lot of talent or experience. Four senior linebackers were lost from a year ago and there wasn't a lot of depth, so replacements are going to be tough to find. Outside of Donovan Woods at strong safety, there isn't a lot of experience in the secondary, but there is talent and if any of these players emerge then the unit as a whole should be able to remain as effective as they were last season. The Cowboys are not going to be expected to make any noise in the Big 12 South and a Bowl bid looks very unlikely. They get three cupcakes to start the year with Missouri State, Arkansas State, and Florida Atlantic and could put up a fight at Houston, at Kansas State, and at home against Baylor. The problem is that they have to play A&M, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Get all of your headlines at the home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team.
