2007 AFC Predictions2007 AFC West PredictionsUpdated now our 2008 AFC West NFL Predictions! In the AFC West we expect the San Diego Chargers to come out on top. The team lost a lot on the coaching staff, but the talent is still there on the field. Everyone else will be playing catchup, but the Denver Broncos won't be too far behind. We expect them to be a contender for a Wild Card spot, even though most likely they'll miss out. Kansas City is in rebuilding mode after shipping Trent Green to Miami, and the Oakland Raiders just don't have the players that will allow them to finish out of the basement. Bet our 2007 AFC West Predictions at Bodog, the most trusted name in sports betting! 1st Place - San Diego Chargers - Don't expect this team to be satisfied with anything less than a Super Bowl title, and we have to think they are fully capable of that. The team knows that when the pieces are together you have only a short time to take advantage, and with LaDainian Tomlinson, Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates, and Shawne Merriman all young and hungry, this could be as good as it gets. The playoffs are expected, anything but the Super Bowl and this team will be scratching their heads. 2nd Place - Denver Broncos - On paper it looks like Denver will be able to compete for the division, but we don't think the team is quite there yet. Questions at linebacker and on the defensive line could hamper an excellent secondary. Cutler will most likely be a little raw still in leading the offense, and they have a tough schedule that contains the Bears and Colts on the road. This team is a toss-up to make a Wild Card spot. 3rd Place - Kansas City Chiefs - The Chiefs are a team that could be good if things go right or they'll fall back in the pack if things don't. The quarterback situation could be shaky in the early weeks of the season, but then after week 4 they will have a decent schedule and a lot of home games to right the ship. The defense should be improved yet again this year if the aging corners can play up to their old form. Don't expect this team to be world beaters, but they aren't push overs either. 4th Place - Oakland Raiders - The worst team in the division because of the worst offense in the league. Lane Kiffin is hoping to change that, and to keep one of the best groups of defensive players together long enough to get this team back on top. It will be interesting to see how the players react to such a young coach, and a recent stretch of being one of the worst teams in NFL history. See also: |
