Most of the same players are back from
2006 which leads us to believe good things will happen
in our 2007 Baltimore Ravens predictions.
The team addressed a couple of it's needs, the main one
by signing Willis McGahee and cutting ties with the
limited Jamal Lewis. McGahee will definitely give
the team more options in the running game. As long
as Steve McNair, Ray Lewis, and Jonathan Ogden stays
healthy this team can make a deep run into the playoffs.
Last year the were close, anything less than the Super
Bowl will be considered a disappointment in Baltimore.

McNair has been getting up there in age, but is still a very
accurate passer and great team leader. Health has been an issue in the
past, and the team has a good stopgap passer in Kyle Boller just in case McNair
has to miss a few games. McGahee should be more of a slasher and will give
the Ravens a different look than the strictly power rusher that Lewis was.
This should add to the team's unpredictability as they won't be stuck between
the tackles and will have a big play threat. The receivers are talented
with Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, and Demetrius Williams to go along with Todd
Heap at tight end. Heap led the team in catches a year ago and don't
expect that to change this year either.
The front of this 3-4 defense is very talented with Trevor Pryce
rejuvenating his career, Haloti Ngata having a big rookie season, and Kelly
Gregg continuing to fall under the radar as one of the best run stoppers in the
game. These three open things up for a great group of linebackers in
Terrell Suggs, Bart Scott, Ray Lewis, and Jarret Johnson. The loss of
Adelius Thomas to the Pats is pretty big, but this unit was deep and Johnson
should be able to replace some of what Thomas could do. The secondary
needs Samari Rolle to step up after giving up several big plays and getting
picked on last season because Chris McAllister, Ed Reed, and Dawan Landry are
three guys that could take on any unit in the league.
Baltimore is a team that we see ending up with 10 wins and that
is more where their win total should be set. With it being dropped to 9.5,
but with higher juice we are making the over a pretty strong play this season.
Getting plus value on the Ravens to win the AFC North is also a bonus and the
steep odds to win both the AFC and the Super Bowl are worth a shot. Place
a couple futures bets on Baltimore and cash in at the end of the season.
