2007 Belmont Stakes Betting

You have more opportunities to win than just picking the race winner with your 2007 Belmont Stakes Betting. Some sportsbooks offer propositional bets for this weekend’s third leg of the Triple Crown. These bets are fun way to enjoy one of the biggest racing events of the year and can also be very lucrative. Bodog is one such sportsbook that offers an array of betting options for the Belmont Stakes.

In addition to placing a win bet on who you think will win this weekend’s race, you can also make some exotic bets which will give you a good return. If you are leaning toward taking one of the heavy favorites, you may want to consider going the exotic route to get some more bang for your buck.

Much of this year’s Belmont Stakes betting will center around two horses, Curlin and Hard Spun. Street Sense, the 2007 Kentucky Derby winner, would have drawn some attention as well had he been entered in the race. Curlin, the heavy 6/5 favorite is not giving bettors much bang for their buck, but his 4-1 career record has odds makers feeling that he almost a shoe in to win the 139th Belmont Stakes.

Rags to Riches is the oddsmakers surprising third choice at 3/1 odds. This prize pony who won the Kentucky Oaks will try to be the third filly to ever win the Belmont Stakes, a feat which hasn’t been done in over one hundred years. Some bettors may jump at the chance to bank on a part of history, especially when the odds suggest the filly’s chances are strong. She is the daughter of 1992 Belmont Stakes winner A.P. Indy and trainer Todd Pletcher has said that he feels she was bread for this race. Find out if Jimmy Boyd thinks Rags will be another failed attempt by Pletcher or if the filly has a legitimate shot in his 2007 Belmont Stakes picks article.

Tiago at 10/1 odds is showing the kind of value that big horse bettors are looking for. The bay-colt is a half brother to 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo and is also owned by Jerry Moss and ridden by John Shirreffs. This has been a championship team in the past but Tiago’s 7th place Derby finish leads many insiders to believe that he got the shorter end of the stick in the gene pool.

CP West is listed at 12/1 odds. Nick Zito’s horse finished fourth in The Preakness but doesn’t seem to be a real threat here. Zito did win the 2004 Belmont with Birdstone, but I’m not sure West is of the same caliber. Linking him up in some exotics may give you a good shot to make some nice bank.

Imawildandcrazyguy and Slew’s Tizzy are your long shots at 20/1 odds. Neither appear to be dark horses, but we can’t forget that Imawildandcrazyguy finished 4th at this year’s Derby and another long race could play into his favor.
