Of the seven horse field, Curlin and Hard Spun are the only horses who have participated in both of the other Triple Crown events. Curlin, of course, is the race favorite after his impressive win at the Preakness Stakes over the 2007 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense. Curlin has just one loss in his five race career which came at this year’s Kentucky Derby when he still cashed show bets. He isn’t a great value bet at 6/5 odds, but may be the winning recipe. His condition is the biggest issue here running against fresher horses.

Hard Spun is showing slightly better value at 5/2 odds. He jumped out to a huge lead at the Kentucky Derby before being caught on the home stretch by Street Sense. He also showed well at the Preakness Stakes finishing third. His big race experience and burst out of the gates will also make him a popular choice this week.

Rags to Riches is getting plenty of media attention because she will attempt to be just the third filly in history to ever win the Belmont Stakes. The fact that Pletcher is her trainer doesn’t look good with the bad track record he has in Triple Crown events. He is 0-for-6 at the Belmont Stakes and 0-for-28 in all Triple Crown events. The filly’s pedigree gives her a legitimate shot however. She is the daughter of the 1992 Belmont Stakes winner A.P.Indy and he trainer feels she is bread for this race. Find out if Jimmy Boyd thinks Pletcher is being extremely optimistic in hopes of gaining his first major horse racing victory or if the trainer is speaking true. Rags to Riches is listed at 3/1 odds.

Tiago, CP West, Imawildandcrazyguy, and Slew’s Tizzy round out the seven horse field. Imawildandcrazyguy finished fourth in a very competitive derby field. This horse purchased for just $28,000 has already earned over $300,000. CP West was fourth last week at the Preakness Stakes and trainer Nick Zito has won the Belmont Stakes before just three years ago with Birdstone. Tiago is a half brother to 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo. He has the same trainer and the same jockey as his brother. This team could be a winning combination again in Belmont Park. Slew’s Tizzy would be the dark horse of dark horses. He comes in off two straight wins in the Lexington Stakes and Lone Star Derby. A small field gives him a fighting chance.

Remove any doubt this Saturday and bet winning Belmont Stakes picks with Jimmy Boyd and his expert staff.
