Odds to Win the 2007 Big 10 Football

Michigan is leading the way with the odds to win the 2007 Big 10 football conference and with the return of Chad Henne, Mike Hart, and Mario Manningham back on offense the team should be able to score enough points.  The defense though has taken a pretty big hit with only four returning starters so how they grow as a unit should go a long way in deciding how the Wolverines finish the conference season.  Penn State is second on the odds makers' radar, but we are highly skeptical of this squad.  Their defense was extremely tough last year but they have to go to Michigan and they get Ohio State at home.  Back-to-back home games to start October against Iowa and Wisconsin will test this team and show us what they are really worth.  Wisconsin is probably the second best team in the league.  They get Michigan and Iowa at home but will have to go to both Penn State and Ohio State.  We'll see if Bret Bielema can repeat his impressive rookie coaching performance on their way to a 12-1 record last season.  Iowa is a little under the radar, but this could be a team to watch since they do not have to play Michigan or Ohio State.  A trip to Wisconsin to open up the Big 10 title will be big, a win there and the Hawks will be on pace to take this conference.  Ohio State is a team mentioned near the top of the rankings year after year and this season will be no different.  They lost the house on offense and they have to go to both Penn State and Michigan with a home stand against Wisconsin smashed in between.  The end of the season will be where the Buckeyes face their test, so they better grow early in the year.
