2007 Big 12 Basketball Predictions

A lot of quality players are gone, but our 2007 Big 12 basketball predictions won't show the cupboard completely bare for the conference.  Kansas is probably going to be the easy winner in the league, but the Longhorns have talent and the Aggies seem to have gotten over the edge.  Kansas State will be back and Missouri shouldn't be bad, but the conference drops of quickly after that with the rest of the league struggling to compete with the upper half.

The Kansas Jayhawks will be the top of the class here in the Big 12, and we fully expect them to be in contention for a national title, but can Bill Self get this school over the post-season slump?

Texas won't have Kevin Durant, but this team still has DJ Augustin and loads of talent which should allow them to compete with the Jayhawks and the rest of the country.

Acie Law and Billy Gillespie have moved on to greener pastures, but Joseph Jones and Josh Carter still give the Texas A&M Aggies a powerful inside-outside punch.

Kansas State might be a little on the young side, but freshman Michael Beasley will step in and contribute immediately.  If Bill Walker and David Hoskins have big years as well then this team could make a tourament run.

The Missouri Tigers have struggled to get back to the national spotlight, and sticking in the middle of the pack in 2007-08 will be a big success.

You'll see the Baylor Bears surprise some people and possibly make their first post-season tournament in recent memory behind Curtis Jerrells and company.

The mighty have fallen and the Oklahoma Sooners will have to rely way too much on Blake Griffin if they think they can compete with the top of the Big 12.

Oklahoma State finished last season just horribly, and Sean Sutton is going to need improve his record without any big name stars.

Nebraska is another team that doesn't have loads of big name talent, but they could surprise a few people during the season with their style of play.

Bobby Knight isn't going to be a very happy coach this year as the Texas Tech Red Raiders end up towards the bottom of the Big 12.

It's going to take a few recruiting classes for Jeff Bzdelik to get the Colorado Buffaloes turned around.  This team lacks the talent to finish above .500 in league play.

Iowa State isn't going to have Mike Taylor due to him being kicked off the team, which leaves them with a bunch of players playing that wouldn't see the floor on a lot of other teams in college basketball.
