Carolina Panthers Predictions & NFL Picks!
For the 2007 season the Carolina Panthers
are hoping they can live up the expectations that were
placed on them a year ago. The team was supposed
to be the Super Bowl champions, but instead stumbled out
of the gate and in crossing the finish line, missing the
playoffs entirely. We think most of the problems
came due to injuries and if the team can stay healthy
they won't have those same issues this year. An
easier schedule and a pattern of doing well in odds
years has us riding Carolina high this year.

The team has the quarterback of the present in Jake Delhomme and
the quarterback of the future in David Carr. However, if Delhomme
struggles in key spots and costs the team games again this year then Carr will
see some time as the starter. For Carolina to maximize it's potential this
year Delhomme needs to take Carr's signing as a push to play at an elite level.
DeShaun Foster and DeAngelo Williams will split time in the backfield, but with
how often Foster has been hurt over his career the team needs Williams to step
up in his second year. Steve Smith did alright last year even though he
was dealing with double teams consistently. To eliminate the double teams
or at least make the opposition pay Dwayne Jarrett needs a big rookie campaign
as a possession receiver and Drew Carter needs to be a downfield threat.
Defensively the team was near the top of all the major
categories and should be one of the best in the NFC again in 2007. The
line is solid as Julius Peppers is just a beast at the end spot and Mike Rucker
can take heat off of him if he's healthy. On the inside there is a solid
pair of run stoppers in Maake Kemoeatu and Kris Jenkins, making this front four
the strength of the team. The linebacker position isn't nearly as solid,
especially with how often Dan Morgan finds himself on the sidelines due to
injury. If he's healthy, this defense takes it up a notch. Jon
Beason should see playing time as the team's first round draft pick and Thomas
Davis was second on the team in tackles a year ago. The Panthers have
three good guys to play corner in Chris Gamble, Richard Marshall, and Ken Lucas.
At safety though the team is depending on an aged Mike Minter and a fill-in.
We feel like there is pretty good value in the Carolina Panthers
this year so we are putting out a medium sized play on the over 9 wins.
The team is our favorite to win the NFC South and is showing good value to win
the NFC and Super Bowl. If you like futures wagers then this is a team to
look out for, as they were on everyone's map last year but are going unnoticed
this season with a lot of the same core around. Of course there is more
money to be made during the season with Jimmy's NFL
picks. These predictions will help you beat the
NFL odds week in and week out.
