2007 Cincinnati Bengals Predictions & Season Preview

Get ready for the upcoming season with our 2008 Cincinnati Bengals Predictions & NFL Picks!

As long as Carson Palmer is taking snaps then people will be making high hopes with their 2007 Cincinnati Bengals predictions.  The offense has loads of talent with Palmer, Chad Johnson, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and Rudi Johnson, but they'll have to deal with Chad Henry missing out on the first 8 games of the year and a defense that was terrible a year ago.  A year ago this team had plenty of talent but they couldn't get one win in their last three games which would have led them to another playoff appearance.  The pressure is now on in Cincy, and the city won't accept another season being outside looking in come playoff time.

Bet our 2007 Cincinnati Bengals Predictions at Bodog, the most trusted name in sports betting!

Palmer will have a complete off-season to get better this year after trying to rehab and just get to 100% health before the start of last season.  That should mean an improvement, but with 28 TDs to 13 picks, and 4,035 yards on 62.5% passing a season ago it will be tough to get those numbers much better.  This guy is up there with Brady and Manning as the top of the NFL class.  Johnson is a talented runner who has consistently put up good numbers the last three seasons with 1,309 yards last year.  Kenny Irons was brought in to be more of a big play threat as Johnson is more of a power runner.  Johnson and Houshmandzadeh make one of the best duos in the league and last year combined for 177 receptions, 2,450 receiving yards, and 16 TDs.  Without Henry though these two are going to have to step up even more in 2007.

The team is getting old up front with Sam Adams, Bryan Robinson, and John Thornton getting up there in years.  Justin Smith is a talented defensive end and is the best defender on the team, who just happens to be looking for a long term deal.  Edgerton Hartwell was brought in from Atlanta to help shore up the linebacking corps who ditched the aging Brian Simmons.  Landon Johnson is reliable on the strong side.  There is some depth in the secondary behind safeties Dexter Jackson and Madieu Williams.  At corner Deltha O'Neal needs to return to his 2005 form when he was one of the best in the league.  Leon Hall out of Michigan was their first-round choice and Johnathon Joseph proved capable as a rookie a season ago.  This team was 31st against the pass a year ago, so they have nowhere to go but up.

The Bengals are a team that the public is in love with but us here at Locksmith Sports don't feel the same way.  We feel pretty good about the under bet here, especially since we are getting underdog value.  The Bengals have talent, there isn't any doubt about that, but the defense just isn't good enough to get this squad to the NFL's elite.  The Ravens still are heads above the rest in the North, so we are staying away from Cincy in the futures pools because of the lower odds they are getting in comparison to the more talented division rivals.

Bodog has the following futures wagers available on the Cincinnati Bengals:

Bengals Over 9.5 Wins: -135
Bengals Under 9.5 Wins: +105
