Dallas Cowboys NFL season predictions!
The Dallas Cowboys haven't won a playoff
game since back in 1996, but everyone thinks that this is
the year things are going to change. The team came
very close last season before one mistake by Tony Romo
cost them the game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Gone is Bill Parcells and in is the laid-back style of
Wade Phillips. The team also did some damage in free
agency by picking up some help for the offensive line in
Leonard Davis from Arizona and a free safety in Ken Hamlin
to help improve the secondary.

The offense thinks they have the
quarterback of the future in Tony Romo. Romo got his
first start on October 29th against Carolina and he
started off with a bang, going 5-1 in his first six
starts. Unfortunately that success didn't continue
as Dallas went 1-4 in his last five starts, which included
the playoff loss against Seattle. During that tough
stretch Romo had six interceptions and five fumbles, but
the team thinks he'll learn from those mistakes. The
running back situation is taken care of by Julius Jones
and Marion Barber. Jones gained 1,084 yards on 267
carries, while Barber came in on goal line situations and
on third downs to rack up 654 rushing yards, 196 receiving
yards, and 16 touchdowns. The team is kind of old at
receiver with Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn. Owens
should be healthy this year and improve on the 85 catches,
1,180 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns. Glenn
added in six touchdowns and 1,047 yards, but he's turning
33 this year and Owens will be 34. Jason Witten
gives Romo another big target at tight end and has made
the Pro Bowl the last three years.
On the defensive front, the team should
get more production out of Marcus Spears this year.
Spears feels like Parcells didn't get as much out of him
as possible, and Chris Canty has been underperforming at
the other end spot. Nose Tackle Jason Ferguson was a
force against the run last year. This group of
linebackers is led by DeMarcus Ware, who had 11.5 sacks
last season and is excited to have Phillips on board.
Greg Ellis will be back after suffering an injury in the
ninth game of last season. The team has a decent
pair of inside linebackers in Akin Ayodele and Bradie
James, who are good against the run but weak against the
pass. The corners are a little old, but Terrance
Newman is a Pro Bowler. The safety position is
talented with Ken Hamlin joining Roy Williams for a
talented duo.
This is our pick to win the division, so
take a look at the value you are getting with that futures
wager at your sportsbook. However, in looking at the
schedule I see this team racking up 9 wins, with only a
slight advantage going to the over. Since the odds
makers are favoring the juice on the over side, this is a
no bet for our staff.
