Denver Broncos Predictions & Preview!
With our 2007 Denver Broncos
predictions we took a hard look at a number of
factors. The first was an easy early schedule that
has the team playing five of it's first seven games at
home. A good start is a must because then they
take it to the road. Jay Cutler has had a full
season to get acquainted with the offense, and should be
improved over a good rookie campaign. Travis Henry
and Dre Bly were nice additions as was Brandon Stokley.
This team improved on paper, but was it enough?

This is Cutler's team, and last year was he was thrust in the
spotlight to get him ready for this season. He showed flashes of
brilliance along with making a lot of mistakes, but the Broncos think they'll
see great things out of him for years to come. At running back the team
went out and signed Travis Henry, who was a major reason the Titans turned
things around last year. At receiver Denver went and got Brandon Stokley
and Daniel Graham to give Cutler more targets. Javon Walker is the no. 1
guy and proved it last year with his 1,084 yard season with 8 TDs. They
are also deep with Rod Smith and Brandon Marshall.
Defensively the team started out not allowing a touchdown in
their first 11 quarters, but let everyone score in the second half of the year.
Major overhaul here on the coaching staff, and a youth movement of sorts up
front. Gerald Warren and Alvin McKinley will be the run stoppers up front,
with Kenard Lang and Ebeneze Ekuban the ends. However, three of the team's
first four draft picks were defensive lineman who will get a shot at playing
time. Al Wilson was the team leader but a neck injury forced the team to
cut him. Ian Gold and DJ Williams are solid on the outside, but Denver
needs someone to step up in the middle. The secondary lost Darrent
Williams in a New Year's Day murder. His death could have an effect on a
number of teammates who were with him at the time. They still have Champ
Bailey and Dre Bly was added to the mix, two guys who can make Pro Bowls on a
yearly basis. Nick Ferguson and John Lynch are big hitters who like to
blitz, but Ferguson has to return to full strength after suffering a knee injury
a year ago.
The Broncos are one of those teams that we feel are just on the
outside looking in on the playoff picture and will most likely end up with 9 or
fewer wins. The under is a decent play here, but realize that this team is
capable of making the playoffs. We are putting a small play on the under,
