2008 Indianapolis Colts Predictions!
A lot of people will be seeing another
Super Bowl when making their 2007 Indianapolis Colts
predictions, but our staff thinks the team isn't as
good as last year and will struggle to even get to the
playoffs. It has been tough for teams in recent
years to maintain the focus and hungriness needed in
order to stay on top of the league, and in this age of
free agency marquee players are thrown big bucks after
coming off a season like the Colts had a year ago.
A lot of key defensive players are gone, so it will be
tough to get back to the pinnacle of the sport.

There isn't a need to talk much about Peyton Manning
because he's probably the best quarterback in the game
and he seems to get better and better each year.
Last year he put up 31 TDs to go with only 9
interceptions and he threw for 4,397 yards. Don't
worry about this position. At running back Joseph
Addai needs to take on more of the load since Dominic
Rhodes left for Oakland. The Colts like to use two
backs, but must find a viable replacement. Marvin
Harrison and Reggie Wayne are two incredible receivers,
but Harrison is entering his 12th season in the league
and has to start wearing down sometime. Anthony
Gonzalez was drafted to give Manning a solid third
receiver to throw to.
The defensive front four is alright, but Dwight Freeney
needs to get back to form after only getting 5.5 sacks a
year ago. Robert Mathis came through with 9.5 and
is solid on the other side of the line. At tackle
Anthony McFarland and Raheem Brock are decent but not
stellar. Cato June was a former Pro Bowler who
left for big money in Tampa, making linebacker a
weakness for the defense. Gary Brackett in the
middle was the team's second leading tackler and should
lead the unit this year. Both starting corners
from a year ago are gone, but Indy thought they were
deep enough with two 2005 draft picks taking over in
Kelvin Hayden and Marlin Jackson. At safety Bob
Sanders is a hard hitting force, and Antoine Berthea was
a surprise a year ago.
Everyone will be big on the Colts this year after they had
such a great run last year in winning the Super Bowl.
However, we think 10 wins is a lot more likely than 12
wins is, so we recommend a pretty big play on the under
this year. With Manning at the helm you can't
really count the Colts out, but we think there is better
value out there, so we recommend staying away from these
futures. If you want weekly winning
