College Bowl Predictions2007 Insight Bowl Odds & PredictionsThe 2007 Insight Bowl game is fast approaching and Jimmy Boyd of Locksmith Sports wants to make sure that you are prepared for the matchup if you plan to do any college bowl betting. This game will take place on December 31st at 6 PM EST live from Phoenix, Arizona and will be aired on the NFL Network. The game will feature Indiana and Oklahoma State in what should be a fun and exciting game for those of you who like to see the offensive side of the ball dominate and put up a lot of points. This game used to be called the Copper Bowl from 1989 to 1996 before becoming sponsored by Insight.com. It seems like the officials who look for teams here are gunning for offense, at least one participant has scored more than 34 points in eight of the last nine years, with some real shootouts coming in 2006 with Texas Tech and Minnesota then in 2005 with Arizona State beating Rutgers.
Indiana will be motivated to play in this game, not only for their former coach Terry Hoeppner who died of cancer last summer, but also because they are playing in the postseason for the first time since 1993. After finishing 7-5 with a win in their finale over Purdue, the Hoosiers were a lock for a bowl game. Indiana's Kellen Lewis is a big reason for their offensive success with 25 passing touchdowns on his way to also leading Indiana in rushing yards. His favorite target is James Hardy, whom he hooked up with for 16 touchdowns. The bad news you'll find when looking at the Hoosiers' resume is how they didnt hold any opponent under 20 points in a game this year, and every Big Ten team put up more than 30. Oklahoma State finished the year out strong by going 4-1 to earn their second straight bowl appearance. Even though the Cowboys were only 6-6 they lost to Georgia, Texas A&M, and Texas. All quality teams whom the team felt like they could have or should have beat. Oklahoma was the last team the Cowboys played and they would just like to forget about that embarrassment. That could have left a bad taste in their mouths as they went their the December practices in anticipation of this game. Oklahoma State's strength is that they think their offense can put up more points than their defense can allow. That strategy has worked at times and failed just as often, but against the Hoosiers it should provide us with a great game that will light up the scoreboards.
