2007 AFC West Predictions2007 Kansas City Chiefs Predictions & Season PreviewEven though we don't think this team is a Super Bowl contender, our 2007 Kansas City Chiefs predictions show that this team has some potential. The team has a decent schedule with Houston the first week and the NFC North with their three sub-par teams. If they can get through the first four weeks at .500 then the Chiefs will have six of eight games at home. While we don't think this is the best team in the West, Kansas City could have one of those outside shots at getting a Wild Card is things go right. Bet our 2007 Kansas City Chiefs Predictions at Bodog, the most trusted name in sports betting! The quarterback position is unsettled for the first time in a long time, with Trent Green being shipped to Miami. Now most likely Brodie Croyle will be the guy, who is raw but the Chiefs think has a nice upside. He can make throws all over the field and appears to have leadership qualities needed in an NFL quarterback. If he can't get the job done then Damon Huard will be thrust back into a role he performed at well a year ago. Larry Johnson set an NFL record with 416 carries a year ago, but expect Kansas City to give him more breaks this year. LJ is one of the best in the game, but backs who go through that much tear on their legs just don't seem to be the same the following year. Catching passes will once again be Tony Gonzalez at tight end. He's the best receiver they have. At wideout Eddie Kennison had 53 grabs, and will most likely be joined by Jeff Webb and rookie Dwayne Brown. Not exactly the type of guys who make you think this will be an aerial explosion. The defensive line had problems at tackle last year so they went out and got Alfonso Boone from Chicago. His presence should help Tamba Hali and Jared Allen, when he gets back from suspension, to make more plays. The linebackers should be tough after adding Napoleon Harris from Minnesota, Donnie Edwards from the Chargers, and Derrick Johnson who is entering his third year out of Texas. The secondary is kind of old with both Patrick Surtain and Ty Law regressing, and there isn't much depth at corner. Greg Wesley needs to be more consistent at strong safety, and Jarrad Page played well in his rookie campaign. The Chiefs are in rebuilding mode and most likely won't be able to do better than third place in the division, and we think the odds makers have their number right on at the 8 win mark. We are going to shy away from the Chiefs in the futures bets below. If you want to make money week in and week out betting on pro football, then sign up for the NFL picks at our site.
