2007 NFC North Predictions2007 Minnesota Vikings Predictions & Season PreviewNow you can read up on our 2008 Minnesota Vikings NFL predictions & season preview! The Minnesota Vikings are looking for long-term progress and are going to use 2007 as a building year. This is a slightly different approach in today's NFL as teams like the Saints have found ways to quickly turn things around, but there are a lot of young players on this team and Brad Childress has been given a couple of years to see what he can do. Don't expect a playoff run this year, but this team will make progress with more of Childress's type guys in here. Bet our 2007 Minnesota Vikings Predictions at Bodog, the most trusted name in sports betting! Tarvaras Jackson has been given the nod in Minnesota as the Brad Johnson era last a short year and a half. He has tons of raw talent, but will most likely be rough at times as he learns how to compete in the NFL. The team is loaded at running back after drafting Adrian Peterson with their first-round pick. If he can stay healthy then this will be one of the best 1-2 running back attacks with Chester Taylor sharing the load. There isn't a no. 1 receiver on the roster, which may hurt Jackson's development. Bobby Wade was signed away from Tennessee, but he's hardly a go-to guy. Troy Williamson has been a bust, so hopefully Sidney Rice can move in and grow quickly. Stopping the run will most likely be an easy thing for the Vikings to do as they have great tackles in Pat Williams and Kevin Williams. The ends in Kenechi Udeze and Darrion Scott are good against the run, but will have to get to the passer more as opposing QBs had all day to pick apart the secondary last season. The team was 30th in sacks and 31st in pass defense. EJ Henderson is being counted on to move to middle linebacker smoothly, so last year's top pick Chad Greenway can get on the field and make plays. In the secondary Antoine Winfield and Cedric Griffin are both physical corners and the safety position is rather deep. Expect their pass defense to improve this season. The Vikings are a tough one this year as we think they will get to at least seven wins and finish right behind the Bears in the division. The team doesn't have a real good shot at making the playoffs, but we are putting a small wager on the team to go OVER 6.5 wins.
