2007 Music City Bowl Predictions
With all of the injuries and uncertainty surrounding the Florida State Seminoles this year, the 2007 Music City Bowl is going to be a risky betting proposition. The game is set to be played on Monday, December 31st at 4 PM EST down at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee. The Kentucky Wildcats thought they were going to get another tough opponent to face in this game in order to further prove how far they came in their development of the football program. Instead, they are going to get a Florida State team that will be traveling without 36 of their players. This means if Kentucky wins they beat the junior varsity but if they lose then further discredit will be brought to them by losing to a bunch of misfits.
The players missing from the Florida State lineup will be starting linebacker Dekoda Watson and cornerback Patrick Robinson, along with three top defensive tackles. This should leave the Seminoles a little more vulnerable to the run. The offensive line was hit hard too with two tackles and a guard not making the trip, and Xavier Lee won’t be taking any snaps at quarterback. Honestly this leaves us with a lot of questions about how Florida State is going to paly. This team has always been known as one of the deepest in the land with quality Florida-high school recruits stepping in year in and year out, but with the Seminoles being down lately who knows how the backups will play. We recommend staying away from this game simply because of all the questions with Florida State. There are plenty of other college bowl betting opportunities out there, so sign up for some premium NCAA football picks from Jimmy Boyd and take advantage of these opportunities.
Kentucky was probably the better team heading into this game anyway, even though both schools stood at 7-5. The Wildcats struggled to close out the season in losing four of their last five games. To be fair the Cats had to take on Tennessee, at Georgia, Mississippi State and Florida. Those weren’t four easy teams for anyone to handle this year, and at least Kentucky played most of those teams closely. The offense can put up some points with an average of 36.7 ppg on 282.1 passing yards per game and 156.5 rushing yards per game. The defense isn’t steller but there should be plenty of opportunity for Kentucky to run against a Seminole team that will be without some of their top run stuffers. This line has been all over the place, and the sportsbooks could be killed by middlers who got in on Kentucky at -1 and Florida State at +10.
