Predictions2007 NFL Playoff PredictionsThe season is not even here yet but many of you are already interested in our 2007 NFL Playoff predictions article to see if your team has the post-season in it's future. We can't blame you because with every new year it seems like there are a lot of high hopes for everyone due to the parity in the league, so without further ado we will list the teams that we think have what it takes to make it through the regular season with enough wins to put them in the race for the championship.
Let's get started in the AFC, where there are a lot of great teams who have a chance at making it to the big game. You have to think that New England is the biggest lock to make the playoffs in this year's set of teams. They added Randy Moss and Adalius Thomas to an already potent offense and defense, plus they play in a division that should allow them to walk away with a high seed. Another team we feel confident in is the Indianapolis Colts. Last year's defending champions may have lost a lot on defense, but Peyton Manning is still Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy is still Tony Dungy, don't expect these two to have a letdown. The San Diego Chargers are another team that we think should make it, mostly because they are just too loaded with talent on both sides. Even with a new coaching staff, it would be hard to mess up what these guys had going last year. The other three playoff spots aren't going to be as easy to nail down, but we think it starts off with the Baltimore Ravens. This team has veteran leadership up and down the roster, and the time is now for a lot of these guys who are getting up there in age. The Denver Broncos are another team that should have enough talent to make it and should lead the Wild Card race. The team added Travis Henry and should have an improved defense. The Broncos will be followed by the Cincinnati Bengals who have such a talented offense that their defense only has to be mediocre to win games. In the NFC you will see three teams in the playoffs for sure, the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, and New Orleans Saints. These three were the cream of the crop last year and didn't lose enough off their roster for us to think this season is going to turn out any different. You can also be pretty sure that whoever wins the NFC will come out of that set of teams. Now for the rest of the teams who should be in a great battle to fill out the brackets. In the East we think the Dallas Cowboys are the most talented team, but they are closely followed by the Philadelphia Eagles. The problem for these two teams will be the dog fight they are going to be in for who wins the division, let's just hope they save some in the tank for a deep playoff run. Dallas has a new head coach, but he should improve the defense making this team better than last year's version. The Eagles didn't lose much either, but will need McNabb to stay healthy after letting Jeff Garcia go in free agency. The last spot will be manned by the Carolina Panthers. This is a team going under the radar this year even though it's almost the same roster that the experts thought would make it to the Super Bowl a year ago. These are just our preseason thoughts on who is going to make it, make sure you check back for more playoff predictions after the regular season is over and the matchups have been set.
