Home » December 20072007 Pac 10 NCAA Basketball Betting
Another season is here and once again the Pac 10 NCAA basketball betting is taking center stage in the action. It seems like every year bettors focus on the ACC and Pac 10 while every other conference in the nation has to prove themselves in order to get any credit. Even Arizona, who is unranked at this point in the season almost took it to the no. 4 ranked Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, then the Wildcats beat a top 10 team in Texas A&M. Even a 20-point deficit couldn't keep Arizona from coming out on top. Freshman point-guard Jeryd Bayless and small forward Chase Budinger are showing why they are a duo to be reckoned with.
This isn't good news for the rest of the NCAA as the Wildcats were supposed to be in the bottom half of the Pac-10. This is going to be the best conference in the nation, and even with UCLA and USC losing to Texas and Kansas early in the year, we aren't going to change our minds. We fully expect that this conference to be represented by at least one, and maybe two teams in the Final Four this year with UCLA being the front runner. USC, Washington State, and Oregon join the Bruins in the top 25 and you can expect to see Arizona up there sometime shortly. We also think that you shouldn't count out Stanford, since this team has been playing well in the first month of the season and could be the sixth team you'll find in the rankings, and out of ten teams in the conference this isn't a bad percentage. Of course if you are doing any college basketball betting then you know there are a lot of other quality teams out there as well. Duke is performing better than a lot of pundits thought they would as they still haven't lost this season with big wins over top 25 teams in Wisconsin and Marquette. The Blue Devils could be a serious contender for the ACC even with North Carolina being the nation's no. 1 ranked team and Clemson coming in at no. 18. Speaking of North Carolina, they are the real deal this year. Even without their best player Ty Lawson the Heels dismantled the Ohio State Buckeyes by 11 points on the road. When you go into a hostile environment and beat a quality team without a sure-fire NBA lottery pick, that tells us a lot about the character of the rest of the team. Another team they beat early is Kentucky down in Lexington. The Wildcats might not be the team that everyone thought they were going to be to start the season, and Billy Gillispie might be on the hot seat in one short year down in Wildcat land. One more team we want everyone to watch and put a few college basketball picks on is USC. Even though the Trojans just lost to Kansas, they still have enough talent on the team and a great coach in Tim Floyd that could help them pull one over on UCLA. You can expect that Floyd will use the non-conference season to get his guys ready for Pac 10 play, and with the talent they have you'll find this squad going deep in NCAA tournament play. It's possible when March Madness rolls around that the Trojans will be good enough to make it to the Final Four.
