At the top of the class are the USC Trojans.  This team has a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, and is our favorite to win the national title.  John David Booty will also be in the running to win the Heisman, especially if USC can go undefeated.

The California Bears will once again be the second place team in the conference.  This team has a lot of threats in the passing game with Nate Longshore and DeSean Jackson and Craig Stevens.  The problem with California is rarely the offense, but it's the defense that is mediocre at best.

The UCLA Bruins are good enough on defense to keep the team in games, but the offense needs to who they can put points on the board.  Chris Markey needs a big year running the ball so the Bruins can keep their defense rested and keep the games lower scoring.

If the Oregon State Beavers can find a quarterback then they might be in for a surprising season.  The team has the best pure running back in the conference with Yvenson Bernard and he'll be running behind the best offensive line in the Pac 10.  Defensively the secondary is the only real question mark.

Arizona has a defense that doesn't really have a weak spot and should be able to keep the Wildcats close in a lot of games.  This unit has a lot of players that will be on the All Pac 10 first or second team, but the offense doesn't have enough weapons to get this team to the top of the conference.

Jonathan Stewart leads the Oregon Ducks to at least get their ground game going, but he'll be running behind a mediocre line.  This team was better than their record showed last year, but defensively this team has too many question marks for us to see them getting passed the middle of the pack.

The Arizona State Sun Devils have a nice schedule and new head coach in Dennis Erickson.  This team doesn't have a lot of star power on either side of the ball, but Ryan Torain is a better than average running back.  This group of linebackers is going to have to outperform expectations in order to get Arizona State out of the bottom tier of the conference.

Washington State will be able to put plenty of points on the board with Alex Brink and a decent group of pass catchers.  The problem is the defense will rank in the bottom of the conference in points allowed and yards allowed.  The bad news is that it doesn't look like they'll be able to stop the run or the pass very well.

The schedule is not too favorable for the Washington Huskies and that is why we think they'll finish second to last in the Pac 10.  Offensively the team is pretty lackluster, and the defense will have a difficult time stopping anyone.

It's hard to see Stanford winning many games this year, and they most certainly will finish in the bottom of the conference.  Jim Harbaugh can hopefully turn this school around, but it's going to take some time as the talent just isn't there.
