Week 1New Orleans Saints v. Indianapolis Colts Betting OddsClick here to view out 2008 Indianapolis Colts Predictions! The NFL season will kick off in week 1 when the New Orleans Saints travel to Indianapolis to take on the defending Super Bowl champions. This is expected to be a possible matchup between teams that will be in contention to win their respective conferences and could be a preview of this season's NFL title game. The game will take place on a Thursday night, September 6th, 2007 at 8:30 EST. The game will be televised on NBC to a national audience with Al Michaels and John Madden making the call. Indianapolis is having to deal with a rebuilt defense after free agency swept away quite a few starters from a year ago. Add that to Bob Sanders being hurt to start the preseason and the team not wanting to rush him back into action and you have a team that could be giving up a lot of points. The team did have the worst rush defense in the regular season last year, giving up 173 yards per game but they were excellent against the pass in only giving up 159 ypg. The offense never seems to have a problem with Peyton Manning taking the snaps as he completed 65% a year ago for 4397 yards and 31 touchdowns to only 9 interceptions. That was good enough to rank the Colts second in the league in passing. New Orleans was the best passing offense a year ago with Drew Brees throwing for 4418 yards and 26 touchdowns in his first year with the team. The ground game only gained 110 ypg, but Bush was such a threat out of the passing game with his short catches that the number could be a little deceiving if you just looked at the paper. It will be interesting to see if the Saints go through the air against the good pass defense or stick to the ground and pound against a porous run defense. Defensively, the Saints only gave up 178 ypg through the air themselves, which was good for third in the league, but had trouble stopping the run. It seems like these two teams have a lot more in common than you would think, and that is why it should be such a great week 1 match-up. If you want to know who we think is going to win, you are going to have to sign up for our NFL picks package as we think we have this one nailed. Here is the latest point spread on the Saints Colts game. BetJamaica Betus Over 50.5 -110
