2007 Tennessee Basketball Predictions & Season Preview

After reading our 2007 Tennessee basketball predictions and season preview we hope that you feel as confident about their chances of bringing home the SEC title as we are.  This team has what it takes to make a deep run through the NCAA tournament. Last year they made it to the Sweet 16 and had Ohio State on the ropes before losing by a single point.  This year the team is bigger, stronger, faster, and should be a lot better.  That should scare the rest of the conference.

The backcourt is loaded with talent.  Chris Lofton was the best player in the SEC a year ago as he put up 21 ppg and shot 44% from the 3-point line.  His return to the Vols for his senior season makes Tennessee an immediate title contender as he looks to take over more of the point guard duties this year.  He'll have some help with JP Prince coming over from Arizona and Tyler Smith transferring from Iowa.  Both of these guys grew up in Tennessee and are coming back home.  You should expect them to be motivated to show their skills in front of their home crowd.  Ramar Smith will be ready to break through in his second season and he'll take some of the point guard responsibilities from Lofton.  JaJuan Smith is a solid scorer who put up 15.2 ppg last year and stole the ball 73 times from the opposition.  Jordan Howell provides solid depth, while Josh Tabb can come in and stop the opposing team's star guard.

In the front court there isn't really a true post presence.  Wayne Chism is a solid sophomore who can shoot the three and run the floor, but at 6'9" he isn't a back to the basket kind of guy.  Duke Crews is a little more physical down there, and had 41 dunks a year ago.  The two provide a solid 1-2 punch but could have some trouble against bigger opponents.  Wayne Chism is also 6'9" but battles down on the boards to go with great range from outside.

It's going to be an exciting year for college basketball betting with teams that can score the rock like Tennessee.  Just dont' fall in love with the big name teams when taking a look at the college basketball odds because the lines makers shade the numbers to factor in the large amount of public action bet on these teams.  When making our college basketball picks, we look for the best value and the teams that are going to cover the spread over the long haul.  If you want to win more wagers this year, get signed up with Jimmy Boyd today.
