2007 Virginia Tech Hokies Football Preview & Predictions2008 Virginia Tech football predictions page is now up! Jimmy Boyd's 2007 Virginia Tech Hokies football preview and predictions who a team that is poised to win the ACC Coastal division and probably make a pretty good run at a national title. Of course when the weekly college football odds come out this means that the Hokies are going to be favored to win nearly every week, so don't just blindly hop onto taking them with your college football betting. If you want to make the most money this season with your wagering then you will need to sign up for Jimmy's college football picks package. Each week he hits the newspapers hard to gather up all the information he needs to beat the lines, and now you can take advantage as well.
The offense should be better in 2007 than it was last year, which is what the team needs if they want to make a run at a BCS Bowl. Sean Glennon is going to have to make better decisions this year than he did last year in throwing 11 picks to go with 11 touchdowns. He should have a bunch of good receivers to throw to in Josh Morgan, Eddie Royal, and Justin Harper which should help him move the chains through the air. The key to the offense though remains Branden Ore, who ran for 1,137 yards on 241 carries a year ago, and he scored 16 of the team's touchdowns. Defense is rarely a problem for Frank Beamer and this year's team returns eight starters from the nation's best defense in terms of scoring, 11.0 ppg, and yards, 219.5 ypg. The team has all-conference candidates up and down the line. On the line Chris Ellis is one of the ACC's best ends and a deep group of big tackles to help stuff the run. At linebacker two guys who consistently make plays are Vince Hall and Xavier Adibi, those two are the leading tacklers returning from last year's squad. The secondary is full of talent with lockdown corners Macho Harris and Brandon Harris to go with strong safety DJ Parker. The real test for whether Virginia Tech is a national title team is when they head to the LSU Tigers the second week of the season. If they win that game then the schedule is favorable until a matchup at Georgia Tech the beginning of November. With Boston College, Florida State, and Miami at home this could be the year of the Hokies in the ACC.
