Week 2 NFL Odds
Jimmy Boyd has posted the week 2 NFL odds below for your first look at
the second week of the NFL season. The Locksmith put together a nice 4-2-1
performance in week 1 cashing in his 5 Star Week 1 Best Bet on the Houston
Texans in a blowout of the Kansas City Chiefs as the highlight of the week. A
big 4 Star Major win on the Cowboys in the Sunday Night Football primetime
matchup and another winner on the Bengals on Monday Night Football were
additional high points in week 1 as Jimmy wastes no time proving that there is
no better big game or big play handicapper in the industry.

Without a doubt, the San Diego Chargers/New England Patriots AFC East versus
West showdown is the marquee matchup of the week. The Patriots have opened as
3.5 point favorites at home for this matchup. If New England is going to win
this one, they are going to have to do it without the use of hidden cameras. All
humor aside, this should be a great game, one which could end up being a preview
of the AFC Championship game this season.
One matchup that may not be very intriguing to the league but has peaked my
interest is the Houston Texans/Carolina Panthers battle. Houston opened up the
season by shocking a 2006-07 playoff team in blowout fashion in week 1 at home,
getting Matt Schaub’s career as a starter off a very positive note. But how will
these Texans fair on the road against the Carolina Panther who destroyed the St.
Louis Rams in week 1? If the Texans can show us road success as well, this team
could prove to be well ahead of schedule.
An interesting line in week 2 seems to be the one that has the Bengals favored
by just 6.5 points against the Browns in Cleveland. Perhaps the books see a
letdown after a highly emotional win by the Bengals on MNF and feel that losing
a day of preparation could hurt Cincy. And they also may be projecting a bounce
back for the Browns after being embarrassed by the Steelers in week 1 when they
were just 5.5 point underdogs. What we can learn by the Browns’ lines the first
two weeks is that the books felt like this would be an improved team heading
into the season. Let’s see if they are right or wrong.
