2007 World Series Predictions
2008 World Series Predictions
are now posted!
The Colorado Rockies looked like a team who mopped up its competition all
season long in this year’s MLB playoffs. Instead, they were a team which
caught fire at the right time, and now they find themselves four wins away
from an improbable World Series title.

The Boston Red Sox did not make it to the World Series as easily as the
Rockies. Instead, they brought drama, much like they did a few season ago
when they came back from the dead against the Yanks. They conquered a 3-l
deficit against the Cleveland Indians to advance to the Series.
With the table set, now it’s time to find out who has the edge in Jimmy’s
2007 Rockies versus Red Sox World Series predictions.
The Red Sox are no doubt the favorites heading into the World Series, with
home field advantage and with top notch pitching. With the way Beckett has
looked its hard not to think that he will deliver two victories. Jonathan
Papelbon has been has clutch as they come as well. Throw proven playoff
legends, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, into the mix, and Colorado doesn’t
stand a chance, right? I’m not so quick to answer that question with a yes.
The Rockies defied laws of physics, I’m sure, to even make the postseason
and they showed that they meant business by arriving in the World Series
without a playoff loss. The Rockies did it with offense all season long, but
it may surprise you that they have a team ERA of just 2.08 in the playoffs
while the Red Sox bring in an ERA of 3.60. Colorado can win this series if
they do one thing; they have to beat Beckett. Easier said than done. Beckett
is 3-0 in the postseason with 26 strikeouts and he just collected ALCS MVP
honors.
With as great of a season as the Rockies have had, they lack the playoff
experience of the Red Sox which leads me to believe their story book run
ends here. Boston has scored 36 more runs in the postseason, it has hit
eight more homeruns, and its .304 team batting average towers over
Colorado’s .242.
Because the Rockies have thrived in their underdog role, this thing will
likely be closer than expected. The Red Sox capture another World Series
title, further banishing the curse, in six games.

totals as well as money line plays.
