2007-08 NBA Predictions2007-08 Cleveland Cavaliers Predictions & Season PreviewTake a look at the 2008 Cleveland Cavs odds to win the 2008 NBA Finals!
Take a look at Jimmy Boyd's 2007-08 Cleveland Cavaliers predictions and season preview to see if they can get back to the NBA Finals. This will be basically the same team from a year ago, and the Cavs are basically taking an approach of another year under the belt of their stars should lead to improvements. That isn't to say the team didn't try to make a few moves as Drew Gooden was on the block last summer, but there weren't any takers who wanted to give up a quality point guard that the team needs.
The front court is where the stars are, led by the King LeBron James. James was unbelievable last year in the playoffs, when it seemed like he took things up a notch in getting that killer instinct. He took over against Detroit, but didn't have enough left in the tank for the Spurs in the Finals. He scored 27.3 points, took down nearly 7 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists per game last year at the small forward position. Zydrunas Illgauskas isn't necessarily quick, but he's tall at 7'3" and has a good low post game, especially on the offensive end. He only scored 12 ppg a year ago, but was healthy for nearly the entire season which has been a problem in his career. The power forward spot is held down by Drew Gooden, who at times appeared to dominate, but at other times disappeared for long stretches of time. Sasha Pavlovic, Donyell Marshall, and Anderson Varejao are all capable backups which give the team a decent amount of depth. The team is missing a strong point guard as they have two reliable shooting guards who try and make due. Larry Hughes was the second leading scorer on the team last year with 15 ppg, but was hurt for most of the playoffs. Eric Snow can't do a lot on the offensive side of the floor with only a couple baskets a game, but he does play solid defense. Daniel "Boobie" Gibson turned out to be a star last year in the playoffs and got the job done on offense, but he's a liability on the other side of the floor. Damon Jones and Shannon Brown will both come off the bench as well to spell the top three guys. This year if you want to get the most out of your NBA betting then you really are going to want to pick up a package of NBA picks from Jimmy Boyd and his staff.
