2007-08 Memphis Grizzlies Predictions & Season Preview

Dont' expect too much positive feed back with our 2007-08 Memphis Grizzlies season preview and predictions article.  This team has more turnover than maybe any other in the league, from the coaching staff to the influx of new players and the cleaning of the staff and roster that went 22-60 a year go.  This team is young and if they can stick together it shouldn't be long before they make it back to the playoffs, but don't expect that kind of jump this season.

Paul Gasol is an All-Star, but even though he's seven feet tall he's more gifted on the outside, so the team needs a bruiser.  The Grizzlies thought they signed that person in Darko Milicic.  We have our doubts however as Darko never panned out like he was hyped up to be and there is no reason to believe that his time is now.  Gasol will put up his 20+ points and 10+ rebounds per game, but he can't do it all.  Hakim Warrick was a surprise off the bench last year after he did well in spelling an injured Gasol, but there is little depth outside of Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift.

Memphis was disappointed it missed out in the NBA lottery and got stuck with the no. 4 pick, but it might work out for the best after Greg Oden's season-ending injury and the Grizz picking up his former team mate in Mike Conley, Jr.  Conley will give them a playmaker with incredible speed, hopefully the next Chris Paul.  Kyle Lowry won't just hand the reigns over though as he has been impressive when healthy, and point guard is deep with Damon Stoudamire still on the roster.  Mike Miller put up 18.5 ppg from the shooting guard spot and he shot very well from behind the arc.  Juan Carlos Navarro is a good player from Spain who should be able to spell Miller and shoot the three accurately.  The team also has Tarence Kinsey and Casey Jacobsen off the bench.
