2007-08 Sacramento Kings Predictions & Season Preview

Just three seasons ago, the Kings were a 50-win team. Three seasons before that, they were a 60-win team. Now Sac Town is a 30-win team. Can the Kings start their climb in the West this season or will they fall even farther? Find out in Jimmy’s 2007-08 Sacramento Kings predictions and season preview.

We can expect Sacramento to be at or near the bottom of the barrel in the NBA Pacific Division. The Kings’ starting lineup is solid. Mike Bibby is one of the game’s premier point guards. Bibby averaged 17.1 points per game last season and has the ability to be a 20 point per game scorer. He averaged 4.7 assists per game and desperately needs to up his playmaking number. Kevin Martin had a breakout year last season. He averaged 20.2 points per game to lead the Kings. He is great in the open floor and can slash to the basket with the best of them. The Kings would be better off to join a couple other West Coast teams and speed up the tempo for this guy, but they don’t have the depth to do it all game long. Ron Artest is still one of the game’s best all-around players and still one of its worst personalities. He hurts the Kings more than he helps them in my opinion. Brad Miller has not had another All-Star caliber years for a while now. This guy used to live off of great passes from Chris Webber. He has struggled since C-Webb’s departure. Shareef Abdur-Rahim completes the starting lineup. His age is starting to show. He is still going to score the ball decently enough, but he doesn’t do anything else as well as he used to.

As I alluded to earlier, the Kings lack the depth to really challenge for a Pacific Division title. The Kings should finish around the 30-35 win mark again this season. I believe Sacramento needs to hold a fire sale and start over from scratch because the current players are not going to make this team a contender.

The Kings will be a solid team at home this season and we will look for opportunities to back them at home when they are an underdog. Expect the Kings to be a poor road team and you’ll want to avoid them in this spot with your NBA betting. Let Jimmy Boyd lead you to the best NBA season you’ve ever had with his winning NBA picks.
