2007-08 NBA Predictions2007-08 Dallas Mavericks Predictions & Season PreviewTake a look at the Dallas Mavs odds to win the 2008 NBA Finals
Check our 2007-08 Dallas Mavericks predictions and season preview to see if this team has what it takes to get back to the Finals and bring home a Championship Trophy this year. The team put up 67 wins a year ago but was bounced in the first round by the Golden State Warriors. The team decided that they would take a page out of San Antonio's playbook and stand pat to see if the guys could bounce back strong. There are holes, but there is still a lot of talent on this team as they should easily coast through the regular season and find themselves in the playoffs.
When it comes to power forward and small forward there isn't a better tandem in the league than Josh Howard and Dirk Nowitski. Dirk was the league's MVP a year ago even though he fell a little short in the playoffs against the Warriors. Still his nine rebounds, three and a half assists, and twenty-five points per game were hard to beat while hitting over half his shots and 42% of his 3-point attempts. Howard helped out with 19 ppg and 7 rpg, but needs to shoot a little higher percentage from outside, still he was an All-Star a year ago. The center position is weak with DeSagana Diop and Erick Dampier. Dampier has been disappointing and will most likely be so again this year, but Diop is in a contract year and is playing for big bucks, so we expect to see a little more out of him this year. The backcourt is led by Jason Terry, who was third on the team in scoring with 16.7 ppg, but only 5.2 assists per game. At shooting guard Avery Johnson can either go with Devin Harris if he needs to go small, and even though he doesn't like doing so the team was 51-9 with those two starting. Harris needs to step up after putting up 10 ppg, but shooting less than 28% from three. Eddie Jones was added for depth with Devean George being resigned to a one-year deal. He needs to stay healthy to keep the legs fresh. It should be a great season of NBA betting if you like seeing the Mavs win outright. However, when there is a public favorite like Dallas you won't see that many NBA picks against the spread from our man Jimmy Boyd. It's all about beating the sportsbooks, and we do it on a nightly basis so if you need some winners then join us on the premium side. BetUS NBA odds for Dallas to Win:
