2008 AT&T Classic Predictions &
Odds
Jimmy Boyd helped value hunters bring home the bacon with Sergio Garcia at
40-1 odds last week at The Players Championship. Now he's ready to weigh the
field this week with his 2008 AT&T Classic odds and predictions. This week's
classic will be held at TPC Sugarload in Duluth, Georgia once again where
defending champion Zach Johnson will look to repeat. With quite a few top
players taking the week off, you might feel lost with your golf betting this
week. But have no fear as Jimmy Boyd is here to make sure you're on the
right track. Will the odds on favorite Retief Goosen have the upper hand?
Jimmy Boyd gives you his top three contenders at the AT&T Classic right
here.

Bet the defending champion Zach Johnson at 15-1 odds at Sportsbook.com
The oddsmakers have listed Goosen as the man to beat this week, but I don't
see any strong basis for that decision so I wouldn't get caught in the trap
of taking the favorite here. Zach Johnson must love the Georgia skies
because he has traditionally performed well in the state. All three of last
year's tournament victories, including the Masters, were won in Georgia.
It's been a tough year for the Iowa boy with only one top 10 finish thus
far, but with a thinned out field, I really like his chances this week.
Johnson ranks 11th on the tour in driving accuracy and 12th in greens
regulation so we can expect him to have plenty of birdie opportunities on a
course that he finished 15 under par on last year. His putter is the only
thing which could hold him back as his 123rd putting average has not been
getting the job done. I think he'll overcome that here on a course which has
treated him well.
Bet the Sleeper Ben Crane at 25-1 Odds at Sportsbook.com
I like Ben Crane to put the momentum he gained with last week's 6th place
finish at The Players Championship to good use by playing solid golf again
this week. Crane has two top 10 finishes fairly early on and it appears he
is regaining the form which we saw in 2005 when he totaled six top 10
finishes. Without all the big names on the course this week, guys like Crane
will gain even more confidence knowing that they have a greater shot at
winning. Like Johnson, Crane is one of the best in driving accuracy, ranking
12th He has also had a solid year with his putter, ranking 34th in putting
average. This guy still has a lot of untapped potential in my opinion and I
think you'll see some of that this week.
Make a Great Value bet on Paul Goydos at 80-1 odds at Sportsbook.com
After a near-win at the Players Championship last week (all he needed was a
par on the 18th), why not take a shot with Goydos at these kinds of odds.
For those of you who have never heard of this guy, it is important for you
to know that he does have two professional wins and we just about saw number
three. As I already mentioned, Sergio Garcia came through as our big long
shot, and he hadn't won a tournament since 2005. You can bet that Goydos
will be anxious to get back out on the links and try to wash the sour taste
of defeat out of his mouth. We'll ride his momentum here.
