2008 Memorial Tournament Predictions & Odds

Tiger Woods will not return to competition this week as was speculated, but the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio must go on. Last week, Jimmy Boyd and his faithful followers cashed in on Phil Mickelson at 10-1 odds at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. The win was Jimmy's second in the last three tournaments. If you were on board, you also connected with Sergio Garcia in The Players Championship at great long shot odds. We won't have Tiger back in action yet, but there are still plenty of good golfers out there for us to cash in on. Find out if defending champion, K.J. Choi will be on Jimmy's radar this week in his 2008 Memorial Tournament odds and predictions article.

Bet the Favorite Stewart Cink at 15-1 odds at Sportsbook.com

Phil Mickelson will be teeing off again this week and is the odds on favorite to win the tournament, but we don't feel Lefty has it in him to go back-to-back here. Stewart Cink has not won a tournament since 2004, but he is playing the best golf of his career this season. He already have a pair of runner up finishes as well as two third place finishes and six total finishes in the top 10 in 2008. This is a tournament in which Cink has been very successful. He took home a fifth place finish last year at Muirfield Village. His ranking of fifth in greens in regulation is a big reason why we like him on the Jack Nicklaus designed course. 15-1 odds still gives us some good bang for our buck as well.

Bet the Sleeper Kenny Perry at 30-1 odds at Sportsbook.com

Kenny Perry is also playing very good golf this season. He has a runner up finish at the AT&T Classic and a third place finish at the Chrysler Classic already under his belt in 2008. Perry's past success on this golf course is why he should be getting your strong consideration this week. Perry won this tournament in 2003 and finished tied for third last year. With a 22nd ranking for greens in regulation, Perry has a great shot at being in that final group come Sunday.

Make a great value bet on Carl Pettersson at 60-1 odds at Sportsbook.com

Value hunters, this is your guy. Pettersson won here in 2006 and definitely comes at the right price this weekend. Pettersson has not had a tour wins since, but having won here recently will most definitely be a big confidence booster for him this week. His putter has been solid where be brings in a 47th ranking in putting average, but he's going to have to be much sharper with his irons to have a shot this week. I think he will be as he steps out on a course which has treated him very well.
