2008 NFL Wide Reciever Predictions & Odds on Most Yards
BetUS Sportsbook, one of the most respected NFL sportsbooks in the industry, lists 2008 NFL player futures in four major categories. In this article, Jimmy Boyd will be focusing on the wide receiver position. He lists three wideouts he feels have a great chance to lead the league in receiving yards and why. Finding where the value lies is the key to making futures worth while, lucrative wagers. You’ll find the complete list of NFL odds below.

Reggie Wayne: +450 to win at BetUS Sportsbook
Wayne led the NFL in receiving yards in 2007 and we are getting him at a pretty decent price here. I like him to top the list again as he is one of the most versatile receivers in the NFL. He can be a deep threat, a possession guy, and run after the catch, and no QB in the NFL spreads it around better than Peyton Manning. With Marvin Harrison returning healthy, Dallas Clark being re-signed, and Anthony Gonzalez emerging, the Colts have a fully stocked receiving corps again. That makes it hard for teams to double any of these guys. Wayne is a nightmare in single coverage and he stands a great chance to league the league again.
Terrell Owens: +550 to win at BetUS Sportsbook
Owens is easily one of the top three receivers in the game and I like him to have one of his best season ever as it is a Super Bowl or bust mentality for the Cowboys in 2008. Owens finished second in NFC receiving yards to Larry Fitzgerald in 2007 and this season he has a great shot at winning the yardage war for the entire league. Unlike in his past situations, Owens has a great relationship with QB Tony Romo, who has no problem going Owens’ way. Owens’ numbers have continued to rise since coming over from Philadelphia. Romo has not played as effectively down the stretch of each of the past two seasons. If he does not trail off, Owens could pull this off.
Marques Colston: +1000 to win at BetUS Sportsbook
Colston continue to get better and better each year and he has the benefit of youth and health on his side so we don’t expect injuries to keep him from challenging for this feat. Colston tied for third in the NFC with 1,202 yards last season, but there is no doubt in my mind that be bests those numbers with the season that New Orleans is slated to have. Colston, like Wayne, has the benefit of an All-Pro QB throwing him passes and that gives him a major edge over some of the over favorites who try to catch ball thrown by inconsistent QB’s. Colston set a NFL record last season by catching the most ball in NFL history through the first two seasons of a players career (168). That tells us that Brees is going to him often. I expect Colston to really breakout in year three to solidify himself as one of the league’s elite wideouts. That means a huge season is coming right up.
