Written by Jimmy Boyd

final-four-props-4209Besides making a futures wager on who you like to win it all, and betting on the individual games, you can also take part in propositional betting on the Final Four. BetUS sportsbook offers several different prop bets open for your wagers. We’ll take a closer look at these props to help guide your betting in this article.

Highest Scoring Team – Naturally, the odds makers have made the North Carolina Tar Heels the odds on favorite at -200 to be the highest scoring team in the Final Four since it has averaged the most points of all the remaining teams throughout the season. North Carolina averages a flat 90.0 points per game on the season which is good for No. 2 in the country. In the NCAA Tournament, the Heels are averaging just under their season mark at 88.75 points per game. UNC looks like a solid bet to cash this ticket, but I like the value Connecticut is showing as well. UConn is listed at +400. The Huskies rank 16th in the country at 78.5 points per game for the season, but they are averaging 87.25 points per game in the Big Dance. Of course, UConn’s value is created based on the odds makers presumption that a good Michigan State defense is going to slow down the Huskies. Villanova is listed at +300 and Michigan State is listed at +800.

Player to Score the Most Points – North Carolina’s Tyler Hansbrough is the odds on favorite at +200 to score the most points in the Final Four with UConn’s A.J. Price right behind him at +250 and teammate Ty Lawson at +300. Hansbrough averages 21.1 points per game on the season, but his average is down to just 17.25 points per game in the dance. He was held to just eight points against Oklahoma so you can count on Hansbrough to be determined to bounce back with a good game. Plus, with teams looking to stop Lawson first and foremost, Hansbrough could be the beneficiary. A.J. Price looks to be a solid choice as well, as he has the ball in his hand the majority of the game and can boost his scoring with the three point shot. Price has been absolutely huge for UConn since Jerome Dyson went down, and he is averaging 20 points per game in the NCAA Tournament. Check out BetUS for lines on Dante Cunningham, Jeff Adrien, Kalin Lucas, and Scottie Reynolds.

Player to Record the Most Rebounds – 7′3” giant Hasheem Thabeet from UConn is the overwhelming favorite at -125 to cash this ticket. Thabeet averages 10.7 rebounds per game and has big rebounding games of 13, 15, and 13 in the dance. If you’re looking for a little more value Tyler Hansbrough looks like a solid choice at +400 as he averages 8.1 boards per game. Michigan State’s Goran Suton is not showing the kind of value I expected, as odds makers have taken notice of the way he has pounded the glass in this tournament with rebounding games of 17, 10, 9, and 10. Suton is listed at +225.

Player to Record the Most Assists – Odds makers have made Ty Lawson the man to beat in this category at -125. Lawson is widely recognized as the best point guard in the country and leads the Tar Heels with 6.5 assists per game. Lawson has games of 6, 9, and 5 assists in the tournament. Kalin Lucas is a better value bet at +250 as he has really taken on the role of distributor in the dance. Lucas has had 7, 7, and 5 assists in the Spartans last three games.
