nfc west 81309I have made my NFL picks for how I like the NFC West to shape up below. You can check out my NFL betting articles archive to read my complete previews on the teams in the NFC West as well as all the teams in the league. I have also arranged direct links to each NFC West team preview below.

1st Place: Arizona Cardinals +140 to win the NFC West at BetUS – Kurt Warner worked a miracle in the desert last season, just as he did nearly a decade ago in St. Louis. Despite constant pressure, Warner was able to find seams to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Breaston time and time again. The Cards may have come up just short of bringing home Lombardi, but there is more excitement heading into this season than there has been in Arizona for quite some time. The offense could be even better with the addition of running back Beanie Wells so if the defense is respectable the Cards should repeat as division champs. 2nd Place: San Francisco 49ers +240 to win the NFC West at BetUS – I have to admit, I like the direction the 49ers appear to be headed in under Mike Singletary. The spirited, no-nonsense coach revived his team late in the season to the tune of a 5-2 record to finish out the year. Now he’s been given the head coaching job and the pressure that comes with it. Singletary seems to be up for the challenge. Read more about my San Francisco 49ers predictions.

3rd Place: Seattle Seahawks +210 to win the NFC West at BetUS – Injuries completely derailed the Seahawks in 2008 as they watched their run of four straight NFC West titles come to an end with a miserable 4-12 mark. It was the franchises first losing season since 2002 and its worst season since 1992. It was also a terrible way to say goodbye to Mike Holmgren after such a run of success with the team. Now, the Seahawks must adjust to a more balanced offensive attack and they will make the move to the Tampa-2 scheme on defense under Jim Mora. Read more about my Seattle Seahawks predictions.

4th Place: St. Louis Rams +1100 to win the NFC West at BetUS – The Rams have tallied just five wins the last two seasons and haven’t had a winning year since 2004. The organization has hired Steve Spagnuolo to be the guy to get things turned around. His rebuilding approach has included a youth movement with staples like Orlando Pace and Torry Holt no longer around. Talent remains on offense with quarterback Marc Bulger and running back Steven Jackson, but both players have seen the injury bug in recent years and must stay on the field to prove they are worth keeping around during the overhaul.
