Free MLB Picks: Astros at Padres
Big ‘Dog play on the Astros as they look to bounce back from a 3-0 shutout at San Diego Friday night. Public bettors can’t get behind Houston as they are the Majors worst hitting team and have some poor season long stats. But betting value is what this is about, and Houston has made their backers money recently going 6-4 their last 10 games while being a +140 or great underdog in nine of those contests. Take a shot on Houston today and get the best price at Sportsbook.com.
The Padres are just not worthy of this price with Kevin Correia on the mound. He’s in poor form, and in five June starts his ERA was nearly 8.0. Throwing at pitcher friendly Petco Park, he’s allowed 24 hits and 14 runs covering 16 innings his last three home starts with two of those against weaker hitting lineups.
The Astros Bud Norris is unknown to most and he makes his second start since returning from the DL. He’s not a top-tier pitcher, but he had six strikeouts and just one walk in his return at Milwaukee and 60 K’s in 48 innings this season. The Padres lineup is one of the worst in baseball along with the Astros, but Houston scored 5,5,6 and 9 runs the four games prior to yesterday’s shutout. The Padres have the superior bullpen and they’ll need it today. Over seven runs scored projected and Houston has a definite shot today and the big price seals the deal.
