Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots NFL Spread & Betting
The 3-0 Baltimore Ravens look to stay unbeaten when they head to Foxborough to take on the 2-1 New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in a Week 4 AFC battle. Last week, the rout was on for both teams as the Patriots dominated Atlanta 26-10 and the Ravens rolled over Cleveland 34-3. The Pats and the Ravens have not met since Week 13 of the 2007 season when New England won 27-24 in Baltimore to keep its perfect season alive. That win improved the Patriots to 4-0 all-time against the Ravens. The books are expecting another close one this week, listing the Patriots as a slim 2-point favorite with the total set at 44.

Baltimore enters Week 4 as the highest scoring team in the AFC with 103 points, but in two visits to Foxborough, the Ravens have managed just six total points. We can usually count on a strong performance from the Baltimore defense, but the offense will have to keep rolling if it hopes to derail New England on the road.
Baltimore’s offense figures to have more luck moving the football now that it has a franchise QB in second-year starter Joe Flacco. Flacco has already thrown for 839 yards and six touchdowns and currently ranks fifth in the NFL with a 101.4 passer rating. He will face a stiffer challenge this week, however, against a Patriots defense which has had great success in confusing opposing QB’s with multiple looks to force them into turnovers. New England was successful in holding the Falcons’ Matt Ryan in check last week. It is worth noting that the Ravens are 18-5 against the spread in their last 23 games overall and 5-0 against the number in their last five games as a road underdog of 3.0 points or less. If you like Baltimore to remain unbeaten, bet the Ravens at +2 at Bookmaker.
The Patriots know that keeping Tom Brady healthy is vital to their chances of getting back to the Super Bowl. So far the offensive line has played pretty well, allowing only one sack this season. The line faces a stiff task against a Ravens defense that is perennially one of the finest in the league this week. While Brady has been sacked just once this season, he has felt his share of pressure and he has not always been the cool customer we are used to seeing when under duress. Brady has completed 61 percent of his passes for 871 yards and three scores, but we’ll find out just how comfortable he is in the pocket this week.
One thing that could help New England is getting its running attack going to take the pressure off of Brady and to keep the defense honest. After getting next to nothing on the ground in the first two weeks, the Patriots exploded for 168 yards on the ground against the Falcons and it is no coincidence that the result was a convincing win. But running the football could be easier said than done against the NFL’s best run defense. But it is worth noting that the Patriots are 15-6 against the spread in their last 21 games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game. If you like New England to hand the Ravens their first loss of the season, bet the Patriots at -2 at Bookmaker.
