Baylor at Texas Tech Football Picks & Betting Odds

The No. 7 Texas Tech Red Raiders are looking to bounce back from a devastating blowout loss to the Oklahoma Sooners as they play host the Baylor Bears this weekend. The Bears are just 4-7 but are coming off a win over Texas A&M, only their second in the last 23 matchups with the Aggies. Now all they are playing for is to spoiler Texas Tech’s season. The Red Raiders are coming off of their 65-21 loss to Oklahoma and most likely will be left outside of the BCS picture unless Texas or Oklahoma get upset. The Red Raiders should be able to take care of business this weekend though, they have won 12 straight against Baylor and are a 22 point favorite this weekend.
While Baylor fans can’t be too happy about a four win season, things are looking up and up with freshman Robert Griffin under center. He has completed 59% of his passes for 2,000 yards and 14 scores while only throwing two interceptions. Griffin is also a dangerous runner, racking up 744 yards and 11 scores on the ground. He could be a possible Heisman candidate down the road. Baylor has Jay Finley as their main rusher out of the backfield, and he has 760 yards and seven scores. Kendall Wright is Griffin’s main receiving threat with 47 catches for 635 yards and five touchdowns. The Bears are averaging a decent 28 points per game and 381.5 total yards per game.
The problem for the Bears is that the defense is allowing 28.8 points per game and 395.7 total yards per game. They have gone up against some of the toughest offenses in the nation with Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma State, Missouri and now Texas Tech on the schedule. The run defense has held opponents to just 3.6 yards per carry, but the pass defense has given up too many big plays to some of the best quarterbacks in the nation. With 15 picks though, they do find their opportunities. You can take Baylor +22 at Sportsbook.com and make your deposit using your debit or credit card!
The Texas Tech offense has looked explosive all year long with Heisman front runners Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree. The Red Raiders are putting up 45.5 points per game and 551.7 total yards per game. Harrell has done most of the damage with a 71% compeletion rate for 4,438 yards and 39 touchdowns while only throwing six interceptions. Crabtree is having a slightly tougher year while being the focus of the defense’s attention, but still has 84 catches for 1,072 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The Texas Tech defense had looked better this season before their debacle against the Sooners, holding opponents to 26.1 points per game and 376.3 total yards per game. The secondary has given up a lot of yards, but they have also intercepted 16 passes while only allowing 15 touchdown passes.
