Since their opening week victory against Virginia Tech, the country has grown to know more and more about the Broncos program through several national television appearances.

Broncos quarterback Kellen Moore was named as a finalist for both the Maxwell Award, given to the best overall player voted by coaches, and the Davey O’Brien Award, which recognizes the top quarterback in the country. Moore is 79 yards away from 3,000 passing for the season, and has tossed 28 touchdowns against only five interceptions. The Broncos signal-caller has completed 71.8 percent of his passes this season. He has evenly distributed the ball to 16 different receivers, and even caught a pass himself for a touchdown.

Moore’s top two receivers are Titus Young with 55 receptions for 988 yards and eight touchdowns, and Austin Pettis with 50 receptions for 688 yards and eight touchdowns as well.

The Broncos also possess a solid ground attack, led by junior tailback Doug Martin and his 938 yards and nine touchdowns. Jeremy Avery has also contributed with 365 yards and ten touchdowns.

On defense, the Broncos are led by J.C. Percey with 51 tackles, including four for loss. Shea McClellin has been a force with 7 ½-quarterback sacks, and Tyrone Crawford also has added 11 tackles for loss himself.

The Broncos are also having a special season on special teams. Kyle Brotzman has been serving in the dual role of punter and placekicker. The few times the Broncos have to punt, Brotzman has been averaging 41.2 yards, while he’s been great in placekicking duties hitting on 13 of 16 field goals, and is 12 of 13 on kicks 49 yards or less.

As for their opponents, the Wolf Pack may appear to be not ready for primetime, but they have the ability to win this game with their ‘Pistol’ offense that has been unstoppable most of the season.

The triggerman for Chris Ault’s unique offense is Colin Kaepernick. He has thrown for 2,412 yards and 19 touchdowns along with just six interceptions. He has also rushed for 984 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. The rushing game also features Vai Taua with 1,241 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns himself.

The Wolf Pack has averaged 6.5 yards per carry as a team, and has averaged over 44 points per contest. Rishard Matthews leads Nevada with 38 receptions and 616 yards, while tight end Virgil Green leads the team with five touchdown receptions.

With the exception of three seasons (1992, 1995, 2000), these teams have met every season since 1971, with the Broncos leading the series 24-12. The Broncos have won ten straight times against Nevada, and the Wolf Pack have not won a home game against Boise State since 1998.
