Boyd’s Free Bets: January 9, 2009
It doesn’t get any better than it was last night when we nailed out 5* NCAAF Bowl Game of the Year on the Florida Gators. I said the key would be Florida’s defense and the Gators held one of the best offenses in college football history to only 14 points. I’m still the No. 1 ranked overall handicapper on the planet over the last seven days and my 29-17 Roll the last 10 days has dime bettors up $54,000!
I have nailed 6 of my last 8 NBA picks and 10 of my last 12 5* Top Plays. You don’t want to miss tonight’s Celtics/Cavs 5* ESPN Game of the Month in my NBA/NCAAB 4-pack! Make sure you keep riding my basketball picks to more profits Friday. Make sure you check out the Jimmy Boyd home page for more hot streaks and winners.
Friday’s Free Picks
I do not personally bet any of these games as they are my weakest leans of the day and will not hit at as high of a percentage as the plays I have on the premium side. If you’re interested in where I got these lines, check out my NBA odds pages.
Miami Heat -4
Dwayne Wade has been playing like the best player in the world since last summer’s Olympic Games. After losing back-to-back games, he will not let his team drop a third straight against a Sacramento Kings team which is really struggling. The Kings have lost four in a row and 10 of their last 11. While Sacramento is normally a good home team, the Kings are only 6-11 straight up and against the spread at home this season. Miami will also draw extra confidence tonight from having a long history of beating up on the Kings. Miami is 4-1 straight up and against the spread versus the Kings over the last three seasons, including a 103-77 blowout win and cover earlier this season. Dating back to 1996, the Heat have won 17 of 23 in this matchup, covering the spread in 19 of those games. Bet the Miami Heat at -4 at BetUS.
Detroit Pistons +4
This should be a good game to watch with both Allen Iverson and Chauncey Billups going after their former teams. The most critical factor here is that the Nuggets will be without their best player Carmelo Anthony. That’s minus 25 points that the Nuggets will not be able to make up against a solid Pistons defense. There is also a big motivational factor here which favors Allen Iverson. These superstars are not immune from what gets said in the media. Iverson has heard over and over that the Nuggets have come away with the better deal in the trade and he will take that personally tonight. Expect a big game from Iverson in a gym he is used to shooting in. The Pistons come into this one having won 7 of their last 8. As you can see they are playing great basketball. Losing their last game by one-point at Portland actually to their benefit here as they will be hungrier to get back in the win column. Detroit has won 18 of the last 22 in this matchup and we’ll take the Pistons here. Bet the Detroit Pistons at +4 at Bookmaker.
Memphis Grizzlies +5.5
The public is not even looking twice at the Grizzlies tonight but they may want to reconsider. Toronto is just 7-9 at home on the season and 5-11 against the spread in those games. Toronto has won 3 of 4, but I expect the Raptors to be more concerned with a matchup with the Boston Celtics in their next game. In addition, injuries to Jermaine O’Neal and Jose Calderon hurt the Raptors chances tonight. Toronto is just 1-9 ATS in home games off an upset win as a road underdog over the last 2 seasons. We’ll fade the Raptors in this letdown spot. Bet the Memphis Grizzlies at +5.5 at BetUS and receive up to 145% in sign up bonuses.
