Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens Spread
The Cleveland Browns (4-10) will try to avoid a fifth straight loss when they visit the Baltimore Ravens (10-4) Saturday.
Odds makers don’t expect the Browns’ losing streak to come to an end.
The Ravens are currently a 13-point favorite with the total set at 38.5.
Baltimore had its four-game winning streak snapped Sunday night with a 34-14 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Joe Flacco connected on 23 of 34 pass attempts for 226 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted twice. Six completions, including one touchdown toss, went to Torrey Smith, who finished with a team-high 77 receiving yards.
Ray Rice led the way on the ground with 57 yards on 10 carries.
Last week, the Browns jumped out to a 10-point advantage against the Arizona Cardinals but saw their lead vanish late and fell 20-17 in overtime.
Filling in for the injured Colt McCoy, Seneca Wallace completed 18 of 31 passes for 226 yards with one touchdown and no picks.
Greg Little, who hauled in the touchdown strike, led the team with five receptions and 131 receiving yards.
Peyton Hillis led the rushing attack with 99 yards and a score on 26 carries.
McCoy is currently listed as doubtful for Saturday.
After falling to 3-4 on the road with last week’s loss, the Ravens will no doubt be happy to see their home field, where they are 7-0 on the season and carrying an average winning margin of 13.4 points.
There’s a good chance their home-field dominance will continue Saturday as they have won seven in a row over the Browns. Those seven victories have come by an average of 15.1 points.
The Browns are just 1-6 against the spread in those seven meetings.
The Ravens are an impressive 49-24-2 against the number in their last 75 home games when listed as the favorite but 0-4 against the number in their last four home games as a favorite of 10.5 points or more.
The Browns, who have covered the number four of the last five weeks, are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog of 10.5 points or more.
Baltimore won the season’s first meeting 24-10 in Cleveland on Dec. 4, 2011. 290 rushing yards keyed the victory.
The Ravens could be poised for another big day on the ground as Cleveland ranks 31st in the NFL against the run with 145.4 yards allowed per game.
As far as the total is concerned the under just might be the play. These two have finished under the total in four of the last five matchups. They have, however, finished over the number in four of the last five in Baltimore.
