Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons NFL Odds & Betting

Written by -

There is no easy week in the NFC South this season. Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons will try to bounce back from losses to division rivals when they face off this week. NFL betting experts have discovered that the NFC South has been dominant at home this season when facing its division rivals to the tune of 10-0 and that’s why we see the Falcons as 3-point favorites with the total set at 44.5.

Atlanta has beat the NFL odds at home all season long with a 5-1 straight up and against the spread record. While Tampa Bay has been susceptible on the road this season with all four of its losses coming away from home, Atlanta may be catching the Bucs at a bad time off a blowout loss to Carolina to give up the division lead. We do know that if the Falcons are going to win this football game, they’ll have to do a much better job against the run. The Saints, which are not even a strong running team, amassed 184 rushing yards in last week’s 29-25 win over the Falcons. The Kansas City Chiefs have also hit the Falcons up for 184 yards this season and the Eagles ran for a whopping 192. The Bucs and the Falcons first met in week 2 in Tampa Bay with the Bucs coming away with a 24-9 win. In that game, the Bucs were able to dominate the Falcons run defense with 164 yards on the ground. Veteran running back Warrick Dunn has quietly had a strong season with 689 rushing yards, but the Bucs also figure to get a big lift down the stretch from the return of Cadillac Williams. If you like Tampa Bay to break the streak of NFC South home winners this week, bet the Buccaneers at +3 at Bookmaker and receive a 20% cash sign up bonus.

Atlanta’s passing offense, led by rookie B Matt Ryan has fared far better than anyone could have expected this season. The Matt Ryan to Roddy White connection has already emerged into one of the top threats in the league. White had 10 grabs for 164 yards against the Falcons on Ryan’s best day as a pro. He was 24 of 33 for 315 yards and a touchdown. While the Bucs were gashed on the ground by Carolina, you can bet that they’ll be much better this week after making several adjustments so the Falcons may have to look to move the ball through the air again this week. Atlanta’s pass defense has been solid and it played well against Drew Brees last week, holding Bress to 230 yards on 18 attempts. He’d scorched the Falcons for 447 yards in their previous meeting. The defense also took away New Orleans big play ability for the most part, limiting the Saints to only two plays of 20 yards or more, which was much better than the six we saw in the earlier meeting. It has been the Falcons run defense which has really suffered at times this season and whether they can stop the run will determine the outcome of this game. This run defense has has two faces all season long. It allowed Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush to run for 182 yards just a week after holding LaDainian Tomlinshon to 24 yards. If you think Atlanta has what it takes to win this football game, bet the Falcons at -3 at Bookmaker.
