The Dallas Cowboys are reeling on the tail end of a two game losing streak. It’s hard to tell how much Dallas 40-year old QB Brad Johnson has left in the tank. The 6′1″ Johnson (45.5 passer rating) is a cerebral player that knows what to do with the ball, but his arm is one of the NFL’s weakest with only a 55-yard pass-range. Johnson will need plenty of help from his 5′11″ 215 LB. stud RB Marion Barber (400+ Bench-Press). Barber (4.2 YPC 5 TD) will be challenged by a fast Tampa Bay defense that is coming off a dominating performance against Seattle. “I think the defense played great,” Tampa Bay safety Sabby Piscitelli said. “But the biggest thing was the offense kept us off the field.” The Buccaneers 4th ranked defense will be up against one of the biggest O-lines in the NFL in Dallas and could get bullied. The Buccaneers blitz fast and furiously, but Tampa has only accumulated 11.0 sacks. Despite the low sack total, the Bucs defense has an excellent 67.8 defensive passer rating. Johnson will have to be patient against Tampa’s cover-2 defense. Johnson will target All-Pro wideouts Terrell Owens (450+ Bench-Press) and TE Jason Witten on short to intermediate passes underneath. Newly acquired WR Roy Williams (4.50 40-speed) is a big red-zone target that could make an impact immediately. Tampa QB Jeff Garcia (93.3 passer rating) is playing at a Pro-Bowl level in his 10th NFL season. Garcia (325+ Bench-Press) is a tremendous competitor that is quick on his feet and very accurate on short to intermediate throws. As good as Garcia has been for the Bucs 8th ranked offense, RB’s Earnest Graham and Warrick Dunn have been even better. Dunn (4.40 40-speed) is the burner and Graham (450+ Bench-Press) is the power that will look to control the clock against a struggling Cowboys defense. After last week’s 14-34 loss to the bottom feeding St. Louis Rams, the Cowboys defense dropped to 24th in scoring defense. “It’s like we’ve been riding a wave. Now, the wave is gone. We’re just like everybody else,” linebacker Bradie James said. “No matter what the talent is, publicity, whatever goes on here, it doesn’t really matter.”Now it’s time for us to come together, not only find solutions, but find a cure, and really the only thing that cures that is winning.” The Cowboys secondary is very banged up and will rely on a pass-rush that has tallied 20.0 sacks for support.
