Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams Line
The St. Louis Rams (2-8) and Arizona Cardinals (3-7) are scheduled to do battle Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome in a Week 12 NFC West showdown.
The Rams are currently listed as a three-point favorite with the total set at 39.5.
St. Louis fell 24-7 at home to the Seattle Seahawks last week.
Sam Bradford completed 20 of 40 passes for 181 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Five of those completions, including the touchdown toss, went to Brandon Lloyd, who led the team with 67 receiving yards.
Steven Jackson led the way on the ground with 42 yards on 15 carries.
Jackson needs 251 more rushing yards to reach 1,000 yards for a seventh-straight season.
The Cardinals had their two-game win streak snapped last week with a 23-7 loss on the road to the San Francisco 49ers.
John Skelton completed just 6 of 19 passes for 99 yards and was picked off three times before being benched in favor of Richard Bartel, who connected on 8 of 16 throws for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Star wideout Larry Fitzgerald hauled in Bartel’s touchdown strike and finished with 41 yards on three receptions.
Early Doucet led the Cards with six receptions, and Andre Roberts led them with 51 receiving yards.
Chester Taylor led the way on the ground with 34 yards on a single carry.
We may not see too many points scored in this one.
St. Louis ranks dead last in the NFL in scoring with 12 points per game. It ranks 30th in total offense with 297.9 yards per contest.
Arizona hasn’t been much better. It ranks 24th in scoring with 19 points per game and 24th in total offense with 309.9 yards per game.
While the Cardinals are slightly better on offense statistically, the Rams are the slightly better defensive team according to the numbers.
The Rams rank 22nd in total defense with 363.2 yards allowed per game.
The Cardinals rank 28th with 383.8 yards allowed per contest.
No team has scored more than 19 points in any of the last three in this series. These two have played to the under in all three of those as a result.
Arizona has won two of the last three meetings with the most recent being a 19-13 overtime win at home on Nov. 6.
Looking back, the Cardinals have been victorious in nine of the past ten in the series. Their dominance, however, may not continue this week considering the favorite is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings.
The two have finished under the total in each of the last seven matchups.
