I strongly feel the Eagles are the better team and I’ll back them on the road here against a Chargers team that is yet to meet expectations. The Chargers have won 3 in a row, but 2 of those wins were against the Chiefs and Raiders, and they shouldn’t have beaten the Giants as they had 15 fewer minutes of possession time and 80 fewer yards. Last week was the first week San Diego was really able to apply any pressure to the QB and they are going to have to show me they can do it again this week before I start buying in. So, not much heat on McNabb and no running game. That means Rivers is going to have to win another one with his arm and I don’t think he has it in him against an aggressive Eagles defense out for blood after losing to Dallas last week. Philly is a tremendous is 8-1 ATS as a road underdog the last 3 seasons and I expect this trend to continue today. Take the Eagles.

Iowa may be without starting QB Ricky Stanzi, but I expect the Hawkeyes to keep this one within the number as they leave it all out on the field with a Big Ten title on the line. Without Stanzi, I expect Iowa to take a very conservative offensive approach. Iowa is very confident in the ability of its defense to keep it in games and it will lean heavily on that defense here. Buckeyes QB Tyrelle Pryor is certainly not immune to turnovers and Iowa has one of the most opportunistic defenses in the country. Coach Tressel has been known to play it close to the vest in big games and I expect no different here with the way Pryor has struggled this season. Lastly, Iowa is 6-0 ATS in road games when playing against a team with a winning record since the beginning of last season. The Hawks aren’t at full strength but coach Ferentz will have them ready to play and I like them to keep this one much closer than the experts are figuring.

I’ll give the edge to the Cavs as they look for revenge tonight after getting knocked out of the Eastern Conference Finals by the Magic a season ago. Orlando just played last night while the Cavs have had 5 days to rest up and prepare for this one. The Magic aren’t the same team without Rashard Lewis to stretch the floor with his three point shooting and to cause major matchup problems because of the skill set that goes with his height. Plus, the Magic have not been the same defensive force at home, allowing 103.0 ppg in the early going. LeBron is listed as probable for this one, but not only do I expect him to play, I expect him to play well. King James and company send a message with a nice revenge win on the road tonight.
