1 Unit on Bowling Green +10.5
It’s going to be a rough year for Iowa, which saw its best player, Jake Kelly, transfer to Indiana State. The Hawkeyes are already 0-2 scoring just 50 points in each game. Coach Todd Lickliter knows that playing halfcourt, slow paced basketball gives his team the best opportunity to win and that slow pace makes these 10.5 points more like catching 16.5 tonight. Bowling Green was absolutely crushed at Xavier so we should see a very motivated effort from the Falcons in this one. In fact, plays on underdogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points (line opened at 9.5) after a blowout loss by 30 points or more, against an opponent after scoring 30 points or less in the first half in 2 straight games, are 35-11 ATS the last 5 seasons. Bet Bowling Green.

Michigan State will face off with North Carolina Monday, April 6 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan for a chance to make history as the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament champion. Michigan State relied once again on its stingy defense and also got a nice lift from lots of Spartans fans on hand to upset No. 1 seed Connecticut Saturday evening. The Tar Heels continued their assault on the field by punishing yet another opponent by double digits. In this article, I’ll break down what each team needs to do to cut down the nets. Odds makers have listed North Carolina as the 7.5-point favorite with the total set at 152.

Michigan State has met every challenge in this tournament, conquering the most challenging path to the championship game I’ve seen in quite some time. After surviving nail biters with USC and defending champion Kansas, the Spartans took down two of the Big East’s No. 1 seeds, Louisville and UConn. Tom Izzo’s club executed its game plan to a tee in each of its last two games, slowing things down on offense against Louisville and speeding things up against the Huskies. The one constant throughout the tournament for the Spartans has been its suffocating defense, and they are going to need one more superb defensive effort if they hope to conquer the mighty Tar Heels. Michigan State had held each of its first four tournament opponents under 70 points before allowing 73 against UConn. The Huskies likely wouldn’t have reached the 70 mark if Michigan State had chosen to challenge the Huskies in a half court battle, but Tom Izzo knew that strategy was not a winning one. I expect Michigan State’s game plan against the Tar Heels to largely resemble the one it implemented against Louisville as the Spartans do not want to get into a track meet with Carolina. If Carolina does have a weakness though, it is on the defensive end, although it didn’t show it against Villanova, so Michigan State will look to attack in transition when the opportunity presents itself. If you thought the Michigan State crowd was going nuts against Connecticut, wait until you hear them in the championship game. It will be important for the Spartans to get out of the gate quickly, like they did against UConn, to get the crowd roaring early because Carolina is going to try to take the wind out of their sails. If you think the Spartans can pull off the shocker, bet Michigan State at +7.5.

After being denied in last year’s Final Four matchup with Kansas, there was no doubt in my mind that the Tar Heels would not let Villanova stand in their way. North Carolina jumped on the Wildcats early and never looked back. North Carolina shot extremely well from three point range in its semifinal matchup and that will play a big role again as the Heels offense is next to unstoppable when the shots are falling from the perimeter. Michigan State is a physical team that will foul you instead of allowing easy baskets so it will be crucial that North Carolina knock down its free throws. That was an area where Connecticut faltered. North Carolina does not want to get trapped in Michigan State’s half court game like Louisville did. The Spartans are not an explosive enough offensive team to run and gun with Ty Lawson and company so it will be important for the Heels to force the issue. Just as it has been throughout the tournament, the X-factor is Ty Lawson. If he takes care of the ball, gets in the lane, and finds his teammates, North Carolina is nearly unstoppable. I know the Tar Heels clubbed Michigan State in this building early in the season, but there’s no way they will be overlooking the Spartans here. If you like the Tar Heels to add another championship banner to the rafters, bet North Carolina at -7.5.

Jimmy Boyd was a perfect 2-0 in the Final Four to improve to 19-6 with his college basketball picks in the Big Dance. Do your NCAA basketball betting with Jimmy Boyd on the NCAA Championship Game for another big winner against the college basketball odds.

Not too many people out there nailed the Final Four this year. I’m proud to say that I hit three of the four and was oh so close to getting all four. I went against the grain and made the tough decision to take Michigan State over Louisville in the Midwest and I rode No. 1 seeds North Carolina and Connecticut out of the South and the West Regions. I came up just short with my pick to take Pittsburgh to the Final Four as the Panthers were eliminated by a Villanova buzzer beater. Not a lot of experts had Villanova in the Final Four so if you took the Wildcats all the way out, you deserve a pat on the back.

The Michigan State Spartans face off against the Connecticut Huskies in Saturday’s first Final Four matchup. Odds makers have listed Connecticut as the 4-point favorite with the total set at 133.5. If you’re looking for an advantage by going off of recent against the spread trends, you won’t find one, as both Connecticut and Michigan State are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in the Big Dance. So something’s finally got to give in this matchup. While Michigan State will be playing with a nice fan base in this close-to-home location at Ford Field, the betting public is siding with the Huskies, no doubt, because of how dominant they have been throughout the dance. Not all seasoned sports bettors will be so quick to jump on the Huskies band wagon as they will take into account how difficult of a road the Spartans have had to get to this point. And most experts agree that playing better competition prepares teams better for big games. After slipping past a USC team playing its best ball of the season in the second round, the Spartans then escaped defending national champion Kansas, and dominated No. 1 overall seed Louisville with their defense. If you think the Spartans can pull off yet another shocking upset, bet Michigan State at +4. If you have the Huskies penciled into the championship game, bet Connecticut at -4.

Saturday’s late matchup features No. 3 seed Villanova against No. 1 seed North Carolina. While the Heels are usually a big public betting team, some will be swayed to take Villanova after watching the Wildcats destroy Duke, worst than UNC did, and take out No. 1 seed Pitt, who many experts had winning it all. Odds makers have listed North Carolina as a 7-point favorite with the total set at 159 so those who like Villanova have a handful of points they can grab. The Tar Heels have covered all four of their NCAA Tournament games while the Wildcats have covered each of their last three NCAA Tournament contests. North Carolina has been absolutely dominant in this tournament, winning all four of its games by double digits. The only one that was ever really in doubt was its second round matchup with LSU as the Tigers hung around far longer than expected. It will be for you to decide if North Carolina will run away with another game to reach the national championship or if the Villanova Wildcats are good enough defensively to give the Heels a run for their money.

Jimmy Boyd’s expert college basketball picks are 17-6 in the NCAA Tournament. You won’t find better. Beat the NCAA basketball odds in the Final Four by doing your basketball betting right alongside Jimmy.

The Final Four field is set with No. 3 seed Villanova facing off with No. 1 seed North Carolina and No. 2 seed Michigan State going up against No. 1 seed Connecticut Saturday evening at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Besides betting on the individual game matchups, you can also make a futures wager on which of the four teams you like to cut down the nets. Bookmaker Sportsbook has listed the odds to win the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship and I have listed those for you below. In this article, we’ll discuss each team’s chances of cutting down the nets.

Bet the North Carolina Tar Heels at -170 to win the 2009 NCAA Championship – North Carolina is one of the most popular teams in college basketball because of all the championships its won in the past and because of all the great players that have passed through the program like Michael Jordan. Because of that, the Heels are a very public betting team. With lots of money expected to roll in on Carolina, the sportsbooks have set a steep price for taking the Heels, asking bettors to lay $170 just to win $100. North Carolina was crushed in the Final Four last season by eventual champion Kansas, which won with defense. Some will remember that loss and throw up a red flag before backing Carolina to win it all while others will see it is a factor which creates added motivation. The Heels do have the most potent offense in the Final Four led by point guard Ty Lawson.

Bet the Connecticut Huskies at +265 to win the 2009 NCAA Championship – Many experts felt Connecticut was the weakest of the No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament this season, but the Huskies have proved the experts wrong by getting back to the Final Four. In fact, UConn outlasted fellow Big East powers Pittsburgh and Louisville. I think Connecticut has a great shot to win it all because it has shown the ability to win playing any style of basketball. It beat Missouri playing the Tigers’ uptempo style and it took down Purdue adapting to its half court style. Being able to play solid basketball no matter what the tempo is a strong characteristic of the Huskies. Hasheem Thabeet’s defense and rebounding will be a major factor as well.

Bet the Michigan State Spartans at +645 to win the 2009 NCAA Championship – The Spartans will have plenty of fans on hand at Ford Field in nearby Detroit, Michigan but odds makers are counting them out despite having a little dose of home court in their favor. Those who have watched the Spartans in this tournament may not be so fast to do so as they have gotten to this point by navigating a very tough road. The Spartans beat Tim Floyd’s USC team, which was playing its best basketball of the season. Then, they defeated defending national champion Kansas. Lastly, they dominated No. 1 overall seed Louisville in the Elite Eight. If the old saying is true that defense wins championships, the Spartans should get strong consideration.

Bet the Villanova Wildcats at +725 to win the 2009 NCAA Championship – Like Michigan State, Villanova also had a very difficult road to Detroit, but the Wildcats made it look easy for the most part. Villanova crushed both UCLA and Duke to reach the Elite Eight and then Scottie Reynolds ripped Pitt’s heart out with a buzzer beater to reach the Final Four. Villanova has been playing exceptional defense as well and it can be very dangerous playing as a team with nothing to lose since no one expected the Wildcats to make it this far.

Jimmy Boyd’s college basketball picks have beaten the college basketball odds at an amazing 74 percent clip (17-6) in the NCAA Tournament. Make sure you’re doing your NCAA basketball betting with Jimmy Boyd in the Final Four.

We’ll take a closer look at these props to help guide your betting in this article.

Highest Scoring Team – Naturally, the odds makers have made the North Carolina Tar Heels the odds on favorite at -200 to be the highest scoring team in the Final Four since it has averaged the most points of all the remaining teams throughout the season. North Carolina averages a flat 90.0 points per game on the season which is good for No. 2 in the country. In the NCAA Tournament, the Heels are averaging just under their season mark at 88.75 points per game. UNC looks like a solid bet to cash this ticket, but I like the value Connecticut is showing as well. UConn is listed at +400. The Huskies rank 16th in the country at 78.5 points per game for the season, but they are averaging 87.25 points per game in the Big Dance. Of course, UConn’s value is created based on the odds makers presumption that a good Michigan State defense is going to slow down the Huskies. Villanova is listed at +300 and Michigan State is listed at +800.

Player to Score the Most Points – North Carolina’s Tyler Hansbrough is the odds on favorite at +200 to score the most points in the Final Four with UConn’s A.J. Price right behind him at +250 and teammate Ty Lawson at +300. Hansbrough averages 21.1 points per game on the season, but his average is down to just 17.25 points per game in the dance. He was held to just eight points against Oklahoma so you can count on Hansbrough to be determined to bounce back with a good game. Plus, with teams looking to stop Lawson first and foremost, Hansbrough could be the beneficiary. A.J. Price looks to be a solid choice as well, as he has the ball in his hand the majority of the game and can boost his scoring with the three point shot. Price has been absolutely huge for UConn since Jerome Dyson went down, and he is averaging 20 points per game in the NCAA Tournament. Check out BetUS for lines on Dante Cunningham, Jeff Adrien, Kalin Lucas, and Scottie Reynolds.

Player to Record the Most Rebounds – 7′3” giant Hasheem Thabeet from UConn is the overwhelming favorite at -125 to cash this ticket. Thabeet averages 10.7 rebounds per game and has big rebounding games of 13, 15, and 13 in the dance. If you’re looking for a little more value Tyler Hansbrough looks like a solid choice at +400 as he averages 8.1 boards per game. Michigan State’s Goran Suton is not showing the kind of value I expected, as odds makers have taken notice of the way he has pounded the glass in this tournament with rebounding games of 17, 10, 9, and 10. Suton is listed at +225.

Player to Record the Most Assists – Odds makers have made Ty Lawson the man to beat in this category at -125. Lawson is widely recognized as the best point guard in the country and leads the Tar Heels with 6.5 assists per game. Lawson has games of 6, 9, and 5 assists in the tournament. Kalin Lucas is a better value bet at +250 as he has really taken on the role of distributor in the dance. Lucas has had 7, 7, and 5 assists in the Spartans last three games.

Jimmy Boyd is an unmatched 17-6 with his college basketball picks in the NCAA tournament so you have come to the right place for basketball betting help. Beat the NCAA basketball odds with Jimmy in the Final Four!

And there were four. The stage is set at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan as Michigan State, Connecticut, Villanova, and North Carolina compete for a spot in the national championship game. In this article, we’ll take a look at each of the four remaining teams and discuss why they have what it takes to cut down the nets. North Carolina is listed as the -125 favorite to win the 2009 national championship while Villanova is listed as the +700 long shot.

North Carolina Tar Heels – Odds makers have penciled North Carolina in as the odds on favorite to win the national championship out of the remaining teams. Knowing that the betting public will be all over the Tar Heels, the books have made their price steep, asking bettors to lay 125 dollars just to win 100. North Carolina last won it all in 2005 and will have experience on its side this year as the Heels made it to the Final Four last season before losing to eventual champion Kansas. North Carolina has one thing that no other team in the Final Four has: Ty Lawson. If its opponents aren’t able to limit Lawson’s touches, North Carolina will likely be cutting down the nets. The North Carolina Tar Heels are listed as 7-point favorites against Villanova Saturday.

Connecticut Huskies – Many experts expected Connecticut to be a Final Four team when the season began, but a late season injury to guard Jerome Dyson looked like it might throw a wrinkle in Connecticut’s plans. But A.J. Price and Kemba Walker have stepped up their play to fill the void and now odds makers feel it will be Connecticut facing off with North Carolina in the national title game. UConn is listed at +225 to win the national title. The Huskies also have a weapon that no else has and that’s 7′3” giant Hasheem Thabeet. His presence on the boards and on the defensive end has been critical to the success of this team all season long. The Connecticut Huskies are listed as 4-point favorites against Michigan State this Saturday.

Michigan State Spartans – Michigan State has had a difficult road to the Final Four but it has met every challenge. The Spartans took down defending national champion Kansas in the round of 16 and then dominated No. 1 overall seed Louisville in the Elite Eight. With homecourt, so to speak, with the Final Four being held at Ford Field in Detroit, you can expect Michigan State to be as fired up as its been all season. Point guard Kalin Lucas catches most of the headlines, but this is a team through and through, and its stingy team defense is what gives the Spartans a chance to win it all. Michigan State is listed at +525 to win the national championship.

Villanova Wildcats – Villanova earned its way to the Final Four navigating through the difficult East Region, but the Wildcats made it look easy. After getting a bit of a scare from American in the first round, Nova crushed powerhouses UCLA and Duke to reach the Elite Eight. Then, the Wildcats proved their regular season win over No. 1 seed Pittsburgh was no fluke as they beat the Panthers yet again to reach the Final Four. Villanova can be a dangerous team as it has the luxury of playing with nothing to lose. Few expected the Wildcats to make it this far and now head coach Jay Wright has plenty of ammo to give his players one hell of a pregame speech. The Villanova Wildcats are 7-point underdogs against North Carolina Saturday.

Jimmy Boyd is an amazing 17-6 with his NCAA basketball picks in the Big Dance. Do your college basketball betting with Jimmy Boyd in the Final Four for continued success against the college basketball odds.

Villanova spoiled plenty of NCAA Tournament brackets with its win over No. 1 seed Pittsburgh to reach the Final Four. After burying college basketball powers UCLA and Duke, Scottie Reynolds drove down the lane and delivered a buzzer beater to take Pitt out of the dance. Now, North Carolina is waiting. The Heels are back in the Final Four for the second straight year but are hoping to perform better than they did last year when they were crushed by eventual champion Kansas. The North Carolina Tar Heels are listed as a 7-point favorite with the total set at 159.

With all the talk about Louisville, Pittsburgh, and UConn this season, Villanova is now stealing the show. It defeated conference rival Pittsburgh to reach the Final Four and could potentially face rival UConn in the national championship if both Big East squads take care of business. The challenge for Villanova is going to be not getting fat and happy. Few expected the Wildcats to be a Final Four team this season and a highly emotional win over No. 1 seed Pittsburgh could have the Wildcats staring a letdown right in the face. If the Cats come out flat, this one won’t even be close because North Carolina is going to be very determined after not making the title game a season ago. Villanova has shown a great deal of toughness and has played with a ton of confidence to get to this point so with odds makers and the media doubting it, I don’t expect the Cats to lay down. The Cats have one major goal they are going to have to accomplish in order to win this game and that is to slow down North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson. Offensively, it is very important for Villanova to take good shots. If North Carolina has a weakness, it is on the defensive side of the ball. Taking bad shots often leads to quick Carolina buckets on the other end. Lastly, Scottie Reynolds is going to have to come up big for the Wildcats again. He doesn’t necessarily have to have the most points for Nova, but he’s going to have to take and make the tough shots when the shot clock is winding down and when the game in on the line. If you think the Wildcats can give the Tar Heels a run for their money, bet Villanova at +7 at Bookmaker.

North Carolina is back to its dominant self now that Ty Lawson is in the lineup and looking as healthy as ever. North Carolina struggled against LSU before pulling away late, but the Heels dominated wire to wire against Gonzaga and Oklahoma. The Heels look like the best team in the country with Ty Lawson on the floor, but expect Villanova coach Jay Wright to take the ball out of his hands as much as possible. That is going to put pressure on the other Tar Heels players to step up. We expect Tyler Hansbrough to get his, but Wayne Ellington becomes the guy which can really give the Heels an offensive lift if his perimeter shot is falling. Defensively, North Carolina is going to want to take Villanova out of its comfort zone to keep the tempo in its favor. That means putting the Villanova guards under extreme pressure to make them play faster than they want to. If you think the Heels roll to their fourth straight win and cover in the Big Dance, bet North Carolina at -7 at Bookmaker.

Jimmy Boyd is an unmatched 17-6 with his college basketball picks in the Big Dance. Keep beating the NCAA basketball odds by doing your college basketball betting right here at Locksmith Sports.

The Michigan State Spartans pulled off the upset over No. 1 seed Louisville to claim the Midwest Region crown. That puts Tom Izzo back in the Final Four where he has spent a lot of time since taking over the head coaching job at Michigan State. The Spartans will get to stay right at home for this one too with the Final Four being held at Ford Field in Detroit. The Spartans’ opponent is the West Region champion Connecticut Huskies. Connecticut handled No. 3 seed Missouri and its full court pressure defense to get to the Final Four. In this article, I’ll take a look at the keys to victory for each team. The Connecticut Huskies are listed as 4-point favorites with the total set at 133.5.

The road to the Final Four has been far from easy for No. 2 seed Michigan State. After cruising past Robert Morris, the Spartans had to survive a pair of tough games with USC and Kansas before handling No. 1 overall seed Louisville. The story behind Michigan State’s success has been its defense. The Spartans have held all four of their NCAA Tournament opponents under 70 points and held Kansas and Louisville to just 62 and 52 points respectively in their last two games. It is going to take yet another superb defensive effort to get past a Connecticut team that is averaging 87.3 points per game in the dance. Offensively, it is going to be up to Big Ten Player of the Year Kalin Lucas to lead the way. Lucas has taken every big shot for the Spartans this season and he may need to have another one in him to get past UConn. Lucas’ quickness figures to be a problem for the Huskies. His penetration has led to easy buckets for himself and his teammates. Lucas has been huge in distributing the basketball over the last three games with 19 assists during that span. It’s going to take another star performance by the best player in the Big Ten for the Spartans to get to the title game. Bet the Michigan State Spartans at +4 at BetUS.

Connecticut has been dominant in the NCAA Tournament, winning each of its first three games by double digits before beating Missouri by seven in the Elite Eight. While UConn can play half court basketball, I think it will be important for the Huskies to look to run a little more often to take Michigan State out of its comfort zone. Michigan State is a physical team and very fundamentally sound on defense. The Spartans are going to look to pack it in to make sure that Hasheem Thabeet and Jeff Adrien don’t dominate them in the paint. That is going to put pressure on UConn to knock down some perimeter shots and the guy that has been dialing up threes throughout the tournament is leading scorer A.J. Price. Price had 18 points in UConn’s Elite Eight win over Missouri. If Kemba Walker, who had 23 points, 5 assists, and 5 boards off the bench in Connecticut’s Elite Eight matchup can put together another performance like that, it’s going to be very difficult for the Spartans to defend the Huskies. Another major key is for Hasheem Thabeet to stay out of foul trouble as his ability to block and alter shots is so crucial to the effectiveness of the UConn defense. Bet the Connecticut Huskies at -4 at BetUS.

Other than the Cats, the 1-3 seeds all advanced and this is where the matchups start to get really interesting. Jimmy Boyd analyzes the two Sweet 16 matchups in the Midwest Region in this article. Bet the Sweet 16 at BetUS and receive up to 145 percent in sign up bonuses.

No. 12 Arizona Wildcats vs. No. 1 Louisville Cardinals – Arizona was certainly one of the last teams selected by the committee to compete in the NCAA Tournament and the Wildcats have proved the committee right. Many experts were not shy about saying that St. Mary’s or Creighton was more deserving, but the Wildcats have knocked off Utah and Cleveland State in convincing fashion to get a shot at No. 1 overall seed Louisville. Louisville pulled away from Morehead State in round one to win by 20 but then got a scare from Siena in round two. The Cards will have to be on their game Friday night as Arizona finds itself in a very similar spot as Siena in that it has the luxury of playing with nothing to lose. Louisville is the better defensive team on the season, but the Cards are going to have to play better than they did against Siena when they allowed 72 points. For Arizona to win, they are going to have to be able to handle the Louisville pressure for points while keeping their turnovers down. Much of that responsibility falls on guard Nic Wise, who averages 15 points per game and 4.6 assists. Louisville will be able to dictate the tempo as it has in nearly every game its played so it will be up to the Cards to shoot a high percentage if they want to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight. Terrence Williams is the guy for the Cards, leading them in assists and steals and also putting up 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He was huge against Siena with a 24-point, 15-rebound performance. Bet Louisville -9/Arizona +9 at BetUS.

No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks vs. No. 2 Michigan State Spartans – Both of these teams advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2008 with Kansas winning it all and Michigan State falling in this round to eventual runner up Memphis. Kansas lost most of its weapons from last year’s title team, but that has not slowed down the Jayhawks. After getting a test from North Dakota State in round one, Kansas crushed Dayton in round two. Michigan State handled Robert Morris with ease and then outlasted USC in a nailbiter to reach the round of 16. Two of the finest point guards in the country will face off in this matchup and whoever wins that battle will likely punch his team’s ticket to the Elite Eight. Kansas’ star point guard is Sherron Collins. He was a pivotal player in last year’s championship run and he has been Kansas’ go-to guy all season long, averaging 18.9 points and 4.9 assists per game. No team has has an answer for him in the first two rounds as he has torched the opposition with 32 and 25 points respectively. Big Ten Player of the Year Kalin Lucas is Michigan State’s star point guard. He averages 14.6 points and 4.5 assists per game. His number really hasn’t been called on to score in the tournament, but expect him to take the big shots down the stretch if this one goes down to the wire. If Lucas can slow down Collins with his defense, the Spartans will move on, but if there is no answer for Collins, Kansas will get one step closer to cutting down the nets again. Bet Michigan State -1.5/Kansas +1.5 at BetUS.

Like the East Region, the South also saw its 1-4 seeds advance to the Sweet 16. This is where it gets interesting as two very good teams will have to pack their bags. Jimmy Boyd previews both Sweet 16 matchups in the South in this article. Bet the Sweet 16 at BetUS and receive up to 145 percent in sign up bonuses.

No. 4 Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels – It hasn’t been smooth sailing to the Sweet 16 for either of these teams, especially Gonzaga. It took quite a while for the Zags to finally pull away from a stingy Akron team in round one and then it took a last second shot to beat No. 12 seed Western Kentucky in the round of 32. Radford was a breezer for the Heels, but LSU put up quite the fight and it didn’t look like they would have been able to get past the Tigers without Ty Lawson, who played on that injured big toe. Lawson will be the key for Carolina once again as he is that one player on this team that no one has an answer for. He had 23 points and 6 assists in 31 minutes against LSU. You expect Hansbrough to go for 20-plus against Radford, but LSU really did a pretty good job on him, holding him to 15 points. Teams have been able to hang with the Heels for awhile and then Carolina’s pace eventually wears them out. Gonzaga will try to match Carolina’s tempo for 40 minutes with as balanced and as talented a team as it has had this decade. The biggest factor in beating the Heels will be transition defense, and specifically, stopping Ty Lawson in the open floor. Jeremy Pargo should be able to match up with Lawson as well as anyone he’s seen this season in terms of quickness and strength at the point guard spot, but that doesn’t mean I think Pargo can play him to a standstill. Offensively, Gonzaga needs to convert its easy opportunities and it needs to exercise good shot selection to stick around with the Heels as bad shots lead to layups on the other end for Carolina. Bet North Carolina -8.5/Gonzaga +8.5 at BetUS.

No. 3 Syracuse Orange vs. No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners – Odds makers are basically calling this one a toss up with the higher seed Oklahoma favored by just 1 point. The Sooners ended the regular season on a bit of a sour note as the injury to All-American Blake Griffin slowed their momentum, but they have looked strong in the Dance. Oklahoma had a cake walk in round one with Morgan State and then proved to be too big and strong down low for Michigan in the end. Blake Griffin has been a man on a mission, going for 28 points and 13 boards in the first round and besting that with 33 points and 17 boards in round two. Beating Oklahoma hinges on shutting down Griffin and that has been easier said than done. We know Syracuse is going to play its patented 2-3 zone, and that will put a little bit more pressure on Oklahoma’s perimeter players to beat the Orange. Offensively for Syracuse, it’s all about the ability of Jonny Flynn to get into the lane and make good decisions with the basketball. He has been fantastic in the first two rounds. Bet Oklahoma -1/Syracuse +1 at BetUS.
