The Philadelphia Eagles (7-8) will be looking for a fourth straight win when they host the Washington Redskins (5-10) Sunday.

The Eagles are currently listed as a nine-point favorite with the total set at 46.5.

It’s been a disappointing season for a Philadelphia franchise that entered the year with hopes of playing in the Super Bowl. Despite its failure to meet expectations, this team has refused to quit.

The Eagles have won their last three games, including a 20-7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys last week.

Michael Vick connected on 18 of 32 pass attempts for 293 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Five passes found the hands of DeSean Jackson, who led the team with 90 receiving yards.

Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek hauled in Vick’s touchdown strikes.

LeSean McCoy led the way on the ground with 35 of the team’s 105 rushing yards.

One week after knocking the New York Giants out of first place in the NFC East, the Redskins were defeated 33-26 by a Minnesota Vikings squad that entered with only two wins.

Rex Grossman completed 26 of 41 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the defeat. Six completions, including a touchdown, went to Jabar Gaffney, who led the team with 77 receiving yards.

Former Penn State standout Evan Royster led the ground attack with 132 yards on 19 carries.

The Eagles have won four of the last five in this series with the most recent being a 20-13 road win on Oct. 16. The Eagles, who rushed for 192 yards in that game, could be poised for another big day on the ground this week.

The Redskins were gashed for 241 rushing yards by the Vikings last Sunday

Led by McCoy, who leads the NFC with 1,309 rushing yards, the Eagles rank fifth in the NFL with 146.8 rushing yards per game.

The Redskins, who rank 19th in the league against the run with 120.6 yards allowed per game, are 1-8 this season when allowing an opponent to gain more than 100 rushing yards in a game.

Before we count the Skins out, it should at least be considered that they are 4-0 against the spread in their last four meetings in Philadelphia.

In regard to the total, it is also worth noting that the under is 4-1 in the last five matchups in Philadelphia.
