Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals NFL Week 12 Odds & Betting
The AFC North leading 7-3 Cincinnati Bengals play host to the 1-9 Cleveland Browns Sunday in a Week 12 AFC North Division bout. Last week was not a good one for the division as both of these teams felt the pain of heartbreaking defeats. The Bengals allowed 10 points in the final minute to fall 20-17 at Oakland and the Browns committed a pass interference penalty in the end zone as time expired and the Lions would score on an untimed down for a one-point victory. These two teams have already met once this season and it was a good one. The Bengals survived the Browns with a 3-point overtime win back in Week 4. That win marked the eighth in the last 10 meetings for Cincinnati and NFL lines makes expect the domination to continue, listing the Bengals as a 14-point favorite with the total set at 39.

A win Sunday will give the Bengals their first undefeated finish in the AFC North in franchise history. It would also improve Bengals QB Carson Palmer to 7-2 in his career against the Browns. It is certainly good news that Cedric Benson’s hip is healing as the Bengals have relied heavily on him this season, but the team ultimately seems to go as Palmer goes. Get this. In Cincy’s seven victories, Palmer has 13 touchdown passes against just four interceptions and has only taken 10 sacks. In its three losses, Palmer has thrown only one touchdown pass against four interceptions and has taken seven sacks. In short, if the Bengals can protect Palmer and he can make good decisions with the football, they are a tough team to beat.
The Bengals have come out of the woodwork this season and that means that maybe we shouldn’t be investing all of our stock in them yet. They have had a good season to this point, but good teams don’t give away games like they did in Oakland last week. Good teams find ways to win like the Colts have. Will Cincy respond in a big way after last week’s loss? The odds makers think so. It is worth noting that the Browns are only 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog of 10.5 or more points. If you like Cincy to roll Sunday, bet the Bengals at -14 at Bodog.
It certainly looked like Cleveland would pick up its second win of the season last week, giving it some momentum as it entered this division rivalry game, but that wasn’t the case. A pass interference call as time expired to set up Detroit’s game winning touchdown spoiled those plans. Yeah, that pretty much sums up the kind of season it has been for the Browns. The defense didn’t show up against the Lions, but it has played well at times this season. It certainly did against the Ravens on Monday Night Football two weeks ago. The problem is the offense and the defense don’t show up for the same game. Maybe the Browns can put it all together this week as they played one of their best games of the season against the Bengals in the first meeting, actually outgaining them by 20 yards for the game. It is worth noting that the Bengals are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite. If you think odds makers are spotting Cleveland too many points this week, bet the Browns at +14 at Bodog.
