Clippers’ Chris Kaman will replace Brandon Roy in All-Star Game
Last month we reported how Los Angeles Clippers big man Chris Kaman felt he had been snubbed by not making the All-Star team. He even went after Pau Gasol saying that his numbers were better but that Gasol received Laker favoritism. Well, no need for Kaman to cry any longer as Yahoo! Sports reports that Kaman will replace the injured Brandon Roy of the Portland Trail Blazers in this weekend’s All-Star game.
Roy was selected to the All-Star team as a reserve for the third time in his short four-year career, but he will sit out the All-Star game with a right hamstring injury.
This has opened the door for Kaman to make his first All-Star game appearance, and in my opinion, he deserves it. Kaman has worked very hard year after year on his game and is currently averaging a career-high 20.2 points per game to go a long with 9.0 rebounds per contest.
Besides what this likely means to Kaman, it should also mean a lot to the Clippers organization as Kaman represents their first All-Star since 2006 when Elton Brand earned the honors. Kaman and the Clippers are in action tonight at home against the Utah Jazz where they are listed by NBA odds makers as a 5-point underdog.
